Hotel Villa Anita

It was high season. We were pressed to take a room above our usual price limit. A bit skeptical we were and yet as we look back on those days, we can agree with many others who have written. It was a very special hotel, offering beauty, hospitality, comfort, convenience. There was care and attention to everything. The breakfasts had a pace and offering that made the experience into a sort of morning meal, taking time out on the balcony, enjoying the gardens below, the clean air, while trying dish after dish and conversing. It was five minutes from the sea. The pool was small but full of health dedicated features. The guests were discrete, and the staff delightful. We plan to return. It was a peaceful place and a real vacation.

This family owned and run hotel were welcoming, friendly and professional throughout our stay. We waited 30 minutes for our room but were served a glass of Prosecco and given a chat and recommendations with a map about the town and area. Our room was well appointed with everything one could need. Nice quality bathroom products and everything worked as it should. There is a small pool and gym but we walked and swam in the sea instead. Just a tip. We walked to Portofino and back using the road out and a path back. Very easy and ended with a swim but be careful as some of the lidos charge a fortune particularly if attached to one of the big hotels.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is very well located in a quiet part of town and once you know the shortcuts it is less than a 5 minute walk from the centre. We particularly liked its charm and its amazing breakfast. The staff and owner were all very helpful. The town itself is the ideal place to stay to explore this area (and is far nicer than the Cinque Terre and preferable to Portofino). The only downside was that the room was a little small but there are larger rooms to book if this is important.

We were there for 11 nights as a Home Base to visit the area..the room I booked was the Comfort w/ Balcony...it was definitely too small for 2 people for 11 nights...Sandro, the terrific owner, proposed an upgrade to the superior w/ terrace...just a lot more spacious feel and better layout...the cost of the upgrage was fair...Sandro and all the staff were so helpful and very nice and friendly... The breakfast was excellent and fresh and the women who worked there were so nice.. The cute little pool was a big plus if it was not a beach day...perfect to take refreshing dips after lying in the comfortable chairs sipping your vino...we went to the Beach 6 days and the pool was great on non beach days... An observation is that one of the staff can check by the pool on ocassion to see if anyone needed a drink...be good for the guests and the Hotel would sell more drinks.. Just have a bit more of pool service with drinks and snacks to increase revenue.. The hotel is located in a very quiet part of Santa M..it is up a moderate hill from Caffe del Porto..walking uphill via the path is fine if you are in decent shape and want to burn off some calories..But - if you have difficulty walking or climbing stairs this may be an issue..also no elevator in Hotel...so that's another consideration for people who are not too mobile...you can taxi to the hotel for 20 Euro/ 25 Euro after 9PM... Overall a terrific Hotel with classic Old School Traditional vibe...

What a wonderful bed and breakfast hotel! Manager and staff were incredibly helpful…thank you for helping us plan our day trips to Cinque Terre and Como di Nord! Breakfast was excellent, rooms amazing, service was 10/10. Wish we had stayed longer!!!

This is a very delayed review however it is very much warranted as this hotel is one of the best hotels my husband and I have stayed at in recent years. The hotel is beautifully located on a small hill in a quiet side street however very close to the waterfront and the town centre. The service and the team are kind, attentive and very helpful . The breakfast was among the best ones I had with every item being of high quality and a very large variety selection of artisan teas with ‘make your own teabag’ option which I’ve never came across before. There was a small but very nicely arranged and maintained swimming pool with sun decks. We stayed in the room on the top floor and benefited from a fantastic terrace with a few seating options, sundecks and bathtub. The terrace was wonderful to relax on. We originally intended to stay just for one night but we very quickly modified our plans and stayed for two nights as we loved the hotel and the town! I sincerely hope that we will return to Santa Margherita and Villa Anita!

Oh we adored this place! Tucked into the corner of a neighborhood about a 10 min walk to the sea & town, its a hidden gem! We loved the decor, the staff, our room, the pool & the delicious included breakfast! Its easy to jump on a bus or train (although the train station in a bit of an uphill walk as are the stairs back to the hotel), and you can travel to different areas easily! We cant wait to return!

What’s the Cozy place with nice working people. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Great quality of all services. Breakfast has plenty of choices. Everything tasted good. Bed is comfortable. WiFi works well. Definitely recommend !

This hotel was so very nice. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a balcony suite and it was beautiful! Beautiful view of the pool from our balcony. Sandro at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. The bed was very comfortable here and we loved the rainfall shower. Breakfast was superb--shout out to Crystal for her excellent work ethic and sweet smile every morning. Short walk into town to see all of the shops. We took the ferry to Portofino and really enjoyed this as well. I would absolutely stay here again!!!
