We had a lovely stay at this small hotel in the quiet & scenic town of Marvao. Our room was well sized with a full bathroom (with a whirlpool bath & bidet) & good toiletries. We stayed 2 nights which was adequate to explore the local sights, catch the glorious sunset & explore the nearby region. The first time driving up the tiny streets to the top of the hill, by the castle, where the hotel is located, is a bit hair raising, but on subsequent trips it becomes easier. Breakfast is simple but good, with bread, pastries, fruit & cheeses & local meats etc. The hotel recommended the 2 restaurants owned by the same family & we ate there on each of our nights in Marvao. Excellent. We didn’t use the jacuzzi -it was 35 degrees on the days we visited- but I’m sure it is lovely in cooler weather. The roof top terrace with panoramic view is peaceful & a great place to enjoy a morning coffee. I’d stay here again & highly recommend.

I have literally just turned up here on my wedding anniversary, having booked this room and received an email confirmation over a week ago, for them to tell us they don’t have a room for us. They don’t have the confirmation email that THEY sent us, despite showing her the email TWICE w the a booking reference, and the girl on the reception desk telling us that ‘she doesn’t work here and she didn’t send the email’!! So what is she doing trying to manage the booking system??! And now, 4 hours before we’re supposed to be going to dinner at a Michelin restaurant, we have NOWHERE TO STAY. I am more than angry and frustrated. The poor management of this hotel whose direct booking system doesn’t link up with anything else, only to be told it’s not their fault. Well done Dom Dinis, you have absolutely ruined our wedding anniversary. Angry doesn’t even start to describe how I feel.

Wonderful stay in a stunning location. Very comfortable bed with soft linens. Apple maps did us no favours in finding it so we parked and walked to get proper directions, then drove back as there is ample parking. (Follow the wall instead of driving up through the middle of town) Was a very hot day so we didn’t book the hot tub which has an exceptional view but on a cooler day that would be a must.

This was one of our favorite stops on our 10 day trip through Portugal. From the moment you turn a corner in the approaching road and first see Marvao high up on the hilltop, the experience was magical. The town is compact, clean, and efficient. Dom Dinis has parking available onsite. The check-in was efficient. The room was clean and well outfitted with patio, claw-foot tub and a unbelievable view, a tremendous value for the price. On top of all that, the castle and gardens with panoramic views across the hills and valleys near the border with Spain was simply breathtaking. The breakfast was minimalistic, but adequate, hard boiled eggs, pastries, cold cuts, espresso, enough to get you going in the morning, not enough to write home about. I wish we had booked another day at this lovely hotel in this gorgeous village. Disliked · Unfortunately, the hot tub, which was one of the reasons I was attracted to the hotel, was out of order at the time of our stay. If it were working, one could sit in it with an awesome view.

Excellent hotel at the top of Marvão. Not super fancy, but beautiful and clean. The staff truly cares about making your stay perfect. We had a great room with a balcony and a beautiful view. The room was well appointed and spacious, bed was comfortable, and it was very clean. We used the jacuzzi which was lovely and we were able to order a couple of glasses of wine to enjoy on the deck. Very memorable and romantic place! Highly recommend.

Located at the top of Marvao this is an excellent little hotel. Nothing fancy, just very well run by very friendly staff. The journey up is via very narrow streets so be careful, but it is worth it. Free parking very close by. Our room was well appointed with good air conditioning, lovely bathroom and amazing views. Breakfast is held in a small cosy dining room, or you can eat on the terrace. There is a ‘hot tub’ on the terrace for guests to use. Overall we had a great stay. Fabulous staff who were obviously very proud of their hotel.

Staff were brilliant especially with the kids. Plenty of options on the menu. The food was very nice. Was a bit cold sitting outside but blankets were provided. Would highly recommend as a dining option.

This small hotel is near the top of Marvao, just down the street from the castle. Rooms are simple but comfortable, and a decent breakfast is included. There's even a jacuzzi overlooking the stunning landscape below.

I wanted to stay for a week or more. This sweet hotel is located right next to a park and the Marvao Castelo. The room was wonderful, the breakfast was very good, and the view from the terrace was mind blowing. This a little shangra la, a place to park your feet, read a book, drink wine, all while being on a terrace overlooking majesty.
