We had an okay stay at this property. It is well located and the main reason we chose this place was because they had free parking. The parking lot was very big for the area, but can be a little tricky to get to due to the very narrow roads in Sintra. The property itself was very big and quite beautiful, but needs some maintenance and upkeep. We were put in a room in the garden, and it was very very musty and had a strange smell. It was mostly clean but because it was in the garden, there was a lot of bugs especially in the shower. We told the staff about the smell (it was so strong we wouldn’t have been able to sleep) and they did something and it fixed it a little. Breakfast had quite the variety and was good. Overall, we would recommend this for people who want a cheaper place to stay in Sintra with free parking, but not to those who want luxury.

Perfect location for exploring Sintra, which is a 10 minute walk down a pretty steep hill. Car park was a huge bonus for us. We wanted to use as a base to explore Lisbon too, train station is within a 10 minute walk. The room we had was opposite the main house, it was clean and pleasant enough, just lacked comfort if you wanted to watch telly, sadly the sofa bed wasn't the greatest seat. Breakfast was good, but only available from 8.30, which we felt was a bit late. Friendly, helpful staff and lovely parrots!

Very disappointed in the Quinta das Murtas. Stay away from the garden rooms near the pool. Dirty rooms, stained walls, mold in shower and ants at the door way. A very noisy unit as you can hear everything from the next mini building. Cracked walls, broken wall molding and worse. Do not know what the inn rooms looked like. Breakfast starts at a specific time, not one minute earlier. People are lined up at door. A valid the garden rooms as you’ll be disappointed too!

Excellent stay in Sintra. The hotel was very charming, the location is pretty central and of course the huge perk is parking on-site. Beautiful grounds and pool/hot tub was a big plus, especially after a dat of adventuring. Breakfast was very tasty. Highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Sintra.

Bad experience at this place. The place is not very clean. The garden is extremely messy. Feels like you are in a jungle. The water in the swimming pool was not clean. The chairs around the swimming pool were dirty, some were broken. We stayed in a bungalow. The smell in the bathroom was awful. The breakfast was not good. Fruits were not fresh. Bread, croissants were in a limited quantity and not fresh either.

Unfortunately, our expectations were completely dashed!!! We asked and paid for a double room, exquisite as you would expect from the photos, and it turned out that we were presented with an annex outside the main house that had nothing to do with the rest of the decor and style of the place it promotes. Worse yet, was the disappointment with the breakfast. It is nothing like what they say at booking or promote on their site, nothing like in the pictures. As we were on the last shift, at 10am, there was practically nothing left to eat, the tables were mostly pre-occupied and therefore dirty to clean, and the staff in the kitchen bantering instead of replacing the things that should be in this "excellent breakfast". It was a big disappointment, unfortunately and certainly, we will not be back.

We stayed in one of the cottages on the property for 3 people. The cottage had very good amenities: kitchen with tea kettle and light food preparation (dishes, cookware, stove). The air conditioning was not the icy cold that Americans are used to but was comfortable and that, combined with the comfortable temperatures after sunset were perfect. The property is beautiful. We enjoyed the hot tub and the pool after walking the area of Sintra during the day. The breakfast area had a very nice variety of options from hot cooked eggs and meat to cheeses, fresh fruits, pastries, yogurts and others. The staff was very friendly and helpful from check in to providing housekeeping. The location was an easy walk down hill to the town for dinner, and easy to get uber or taxi to key sites as well. Definitely would recommend this property for a day or two or longer. Truly Sintra needs at least 3 or 4 days to full explore, but however many days you stay, Quintas das Murtas is a good play to stay!

In staying here you feel like you are resident in one of Sinatra’s many wonderful attractions… it’s so ornate and quirky. Rooms within the main house were spacious and really comfortable (we had rm 35 and the wifi didn’t reach here, so request to avoid if this bothers you) loved the gardens, the little swimming pool and hot tub, Lovely breakfast in a beautiful dining room. Very hilly - like the rest of sintra- but only a ten minute walk into town. we did wish there was the facility to get or make a drink later in the day once breakfast was over, maybe on a rainy afternoon or on return from a meal. This b&b is quiet, quirky and very charming. I would definitely stay again.

Quinta das Murtas is a beautiful and excellent place to stay! I've been staying there for years and will keep going back whenever in Portugal. Sintra is a lovely little town, away from the hustle of Lisbon and yet only a quick train ride away. The rooms are lovely decorated and offer great views, beds are comfortable, linen is nice, breakfast is wonderful and the staff is very efficient, accommodating and kind. In short, I highly recommend it!
