Cabañas Tequendama - Parque Tayrona

These are the pros and cons based on my experience. Pros: The property is beautiful. the rooms are beautifully designed, fantastic view, very unique. Cons: The food was below average. Uncooked chicken and horrible desert. they have limited Wi-Fi that you can only access it in the restaurant and at the reception are, and it’s one of those annoying Wi-Fi that constantly kick you out, and you have to log back by entering user name/password every few minutes , it was so annoying . The beach is a very small area, so if you stay more than one night you will get bored here. in order to access other beaches it is a long walk/hike from this place . The bathroom is one level lower than the room, you have to walk one level go downstairs to use it. Upon check out, they gave me a bill five times more than it should be. I only had dinner and a bottle of water and they literally charged me five times more. Make sure to check the bill and don’t just hand in your Credit Card and let them swipe. When you stay here, expect a lot of discomfort. From where the bus drops you off, you have to walk about 25 minutes to get to the property and there is no other means of transportation except overpriced horses. The hotel does not help the customers by arranging transfer.

They are highly overpriced for the condition the cabins; very poorly maintained. The service is significantly bad and the restaurant doesn’t offer the menu that is shown in the website; they offer probably only 20% of the menu only and it isn’t very fresh. An important point to mention is that the cabins can’t be fully closed due to its design, which means that any insect an small animals can get in the cabin. We had a nest of wasps above the bed and got painfully stung multiple times. The staff was aware of this before the arrival but they didn’t fix it, which shows their poor service. We had this problem from day 1 (we stayed for 4 days). Finally, the hotel staff solved it by spreading loads of poison in the bedroom and therefore, we needed to move to the ground floor with the concern of breathing the air in the cabin. The hotel didn’t offer us another cabin or any other alternative to make our stay better. They didn’t really show much sympathy for the situation at all. We felt very much robbed after paying such a high price for probably the worst place we have ever staying. Please notice that there isn’t any exaggeration at all in what we are describing - happy to provide more detailed if required.

Fraud. This is a campground that is a 60 minute walk from a point well inside the park. There are no signs, nor does anyone know where it is located. A senior cutizen like me could easily fall on the trail in the dark,assuming they could find it. Checking in took 20 min a d they screwed up the paid (3) reservation and tried to charge more. Then they charged insurance and park fees. Avoid this place, its not 1/2 the price northe confusion. The wifi is only at reception, the safety deposit box does not work, the food is terrible and over priced, the whole place seems to be run by narcos, run away.

Our family had a amazing time! We stayed in cabaña 6 which was perfect with the 4 beds, 2 singles for each of our kids. Food was wonderful at the restaurant and staff were very friendly. There was only one mosquito net imfor the main queen bed and we had brought 2 of our own. I would suggest the same if you want to sleep under a net. We stayed 5 nights and spent each day exploring a new beach and hiking in the jungle. Felt very safe. Highly recommend staying here to anyone!

The camping is very well mantained. The staff very nice. You can reach the Camping on horseback or on foot after about an hours’s walk. We stayed 2 nights. You are in the “jungle” and near the sea so you need to be equipped to protect yourself from insects.

Relaxing, and safe, no music from neighbors, no lights from streets, far from everything. Great customer service, joyful staff. The space is clean and organized for a place in the middle of the jungle. Will return, do recommend.
