When our taxi pulled up at the hotel, there were a large gang of men sitting on the ground around the entrance smoking and drinking beer from cans, it was extremely intimidating. We went up the side ramp with our suitcases and there was a man laying on the ground smoking and drinking beer and blocking the entry. Our room was on the 1st floor and it turned out this is where these men were staying too, the whole floor smelled of smoke and alcohol. We went out to dinner to be met by the same scenario a large gang of young men blocking the exit, smoking and drinking. We only stayed two nights and it was extremely intimidating, every evening this scenario with a gang of men. I think this hotels is also functioning as halfway house or a hostel . We were two women travellers and found the whole thing very frigtening, this was not a couple of people standing outside smoking, this was a gang who would not move or let us enter. It was deliberate and the hotel did not take any action even when we complained. I note from the reviews here that other people have had the same experience. This hotel is definitely not safe for female travellers.
