Santillana del Mar is an interesting old village maybe on the verge of losing much of its character to commercial tourism, but the Museo los Infantes succeeds in retaining much of its historic charm with an astonishing array of paintings, books, tapestries and furnishings to transport the visitor back in time. Rooms also have a period charm but with no lack of modern conveniences. There's room to park on the street opposite the hotel, and a clutter of tables in the garden outside the front door to sit and watch the tourists go by.

An excellently located hotel with nice relaxing bar and friendly staff. The room had amazing original features , it’s an absolute gem in this this amazing town. Cafes , restaurants shops within a 100 metres. Bring a camera !

Staff were friendly and helpful, room was excellent, lobby area was spacious and characterful. The buffet breakfast was amazing! The hotel is conveniently situated in this beautiful town and we were given suggestions about where to eat in the evening.

Excellent hotel with the friendliest of staff. Breakfast was very good value with obliging staff. Loved the decor of the hotel with all its features. Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay, within walking distance of many bars and restaurants.

Nice hotel, right in the center of the village. I would recommend it. We stayed here for 2 nights, the staff was very professional and helpful. The room was nice and clean (family room). Free parking in front of the hotel.

We upgraded to a room with a balcony but when we arrived it was hardly big enough to stand on. The photos of the front of the hotel are not bedrooms. These balconies are in the museum lounge, which is stuffed with antique furniture but no one seems to use the room. Our room also looked out onto roofs and a car park, and many others look out to the wall of another building. The room was smaller than the photos on line suggested. At the check in we were asked to pay even before seeing the room which we found strange. No lift. The plus side was that you can park for free just opposite. Also a very good breakfast and pleasant staff there. I think you could find a better room for the money as there is plenty of choice in this very pretty village of Santillana del Mar.

We stayed for one night whilst walking the Camino Norte. This was one of our favourite places to stay on a 11 day trek where the standard of accommodation was very high. The hotel is an 18th Century building tastefully renovated to a very high modern standard while retaining the essential features of the period. The room was excellent with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel has a very friendly vibe and is very well on the edge of the town, handy for the restaurants. The breakfast choice was amazing. I think that we were a disappointment to the eager waiter who was expecting to use his grill plate to cook us eggs and bacon! However, with so many other options we declined.

Buen hotel y buena relación calidad-precio, desayuno muy completo, mucha limpieza y gente muy amable y atenta a lo que necesites. Muy bien comunicado, cerca de distintas playas y también muy cerca de las cuevas de Altamira. Muy tranquilo igualmente para quien busque leer un buen libro.

Un hotel estupendo que proporciona a los clientes una estancia muy confortable ,la limpieza a destacar,un desayuno muy bueno y variado y el personal muy amable seguro repetiremos muchas felicidades por gestionar tan bien el hotel merece una visita os lo recomiendo
