Quinta de Silvalde

Service, rooms, architecture, spa, pools, all wonderfully comes together for a special get-away. We will return with friends to try the small villas and to get to know the beautiful Santo Tirso, so close to the property and so history filled.

This was my third time staying at this hotel, and once again it exceeded all expectations. My room was fantastic — comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. During my visit, there was a major power outage across the entire country, but the hotel staff handled it incredibly well. They remained calm, professional, and made sure that all guests were safe and comfortable despite the circumstances. Their efforts truly stood out. I also had a wonderful day by the pool before my work week began — the perfect way to relax and recharge. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and will definitely return soon. Hopefully also as a tourist rather than for work!

So nice, i felt really comfortable. Looking forward to next time. So friendly and helpful staff. My room was fantastic I even had a swim in the outside pool ;) as in the heated inside pool that was so relaxing. Always water in the room that is much appriciated .

Our stay at Quinta da Silvalde in Areias, Portugal, had both positives and negatives. The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and the staff were exceptionally polite and friendly. We stayed for 5 days, and on the last day, as we had an early flight, they kindly arranged for us to have some breakfast before leaving, which was much appreciated. However, we encountered several issues during our stay. Privacy in the bathroom was lacking due to see-through windows in both the toilet and shower areas. After requesting a change, we were given a smaller room with better privacy. Additionally, the air conditioning only worked on the heating setting, making it impossible to cool the room, and the small fridge was warm inside, unable to chill our drinks. The swimming pool is very small, and guests are expected to turn on the sauna themselves, which takes 40 minutes to heat up. This should ideally be managed by the hotel during opening hours (9 am - 9 pm). Pool cleaning took place at 7 pm, requiring us to ask staff to turn off the cleaning machine to be able to use it. Breakfast was very minimal, with limited items like bread and eggs, and juice was only available on the first day. After that, we were told it was out of stock, which is disappointing considering breakfast was included. The location is also not ideal, as it’s in a residential area with constant traffic. Despite these issues, the staff's helpfulness and kindness did make a difference in our experience. However, for the price, we expected more in terms of amenities and management. We might consider returning if improvements are made, particularly with food availability, room amenities, and privacy.

Very nice quiet location north of Porto. Great rooms, amazing amenities and prestige ambiance. Tiago is the best and will make sure your check-in process goes smoothly. They snack bar and dinner restaurant were really good too. The gym, sauna, Turkish bath and pool were a nice touch to the experience as well. Great place for recharging, relaxing and having a romantic stay with your significant other. One thing to note is that the Turkish bath was not working the second night we were there so it may need some maintenance.

Lovely hotel excellent rooms and friendly staff. Restaurant menu limited but tasty and not really an issue of you are eating out in evenings. A great restaurant just around the corner and the pizzeria at the Main Street was a fab patisserie but you wouldn’t know it from appearance. No local info in hotel but perhaps with internet it just isn’t needed?
