A fantastic boutique hotel consisting of 17 suites, all perched on the edge of the Caldera rim below the Hotel Atlantis at Fira/Santorini. Getting to it is a hike up the barricaded approach road and down a winding set of walkways and steep stairs. The hotel provides porter service to carry luggage down and up - the porter performs yeoman service, it is extremely strenuous with the heat and the weight of the luggage. He cheerfully hails the luggage even at early or late hours! Sincere thanks to him for the help provided. The hotel suites all have been lovingly restored from their original set up as a sea captain’s accommodations. The suites are reminiscent of old colonial bungalow rooms - they are tastefully decorated with antique wooden furniture and art pieces from the owner’s personal collection - beautiful autographed (by the owner’s relative) paintings hang on the walls. Our suite was large and accommodated all four of us in three separate areas, including a loft. The rooms were all beautifully appointed and had modern conveniences. The suite overlooked the Caldera, offering fantastic picture postcard views of the sea - sitting in the front or in the balcony, we were able to rake in spectacular sunsets! Breakfast could be ordered each day and was served in front of the suite by friendly and dedicated waitstaff. The spread was elaborate/substantial, consisting of breads/croissants/pastries, cereals, cheese and meat platters, eggs cooked several ways, fruit platter, juices, and coffees! Art Cafe in the reception area one level up, offered drinks and snacks. Service provided by the hotel was 7-star!! Fantastic staff all the way round, eager to satisfy every want and need. They truly spoiled us during our 4-day stay! We were sad to leave and look forward to returning soon. Cori Rigas is a superb spot; highly recommend not just for the location and amenities, but more so for the superb care that the staff takes to ensure a magical stay! Wow! Kudos to the owner and staff!
