Grand Mercure Sanya Yalong Bay recensioner

I stayed there only for one night with my aunt and her friends. We all enjoyed this trip, the service at the check-in counter was great. Thanks to Steve for his help at any time we need. However, I must say that the breakfast used to be better 3 years ago. Last time I came with my boyfriend during Covid times, it was less crowded and the food was better. It doesn’t spoil the overall impression though. Highly recommended 👍👍👍

Nice territory with a pool. Good combo lunch with seafood. But there was a bad smell in the room, and a furniture is a bit old. I had a benefit of late check out for two rooms but the hotel provided only for one, for another one they ask to pay! Not good experience

Old villa rooms. Many things in toilet room is broken. My grand ma tv is better. Plus They let us wait bellboy at 23.00 for half hour. If u okey to live in hotel looks like in 2005 - it’s fine) but not for 80$ without breakfast rate. This is still old Chinese name hotel. Not franchise name that they have bought!!! Ohh yes. No English off course))

This is our second trip to Sanya and Yalong Bay, and it's the second time we have stayed in this hotel for an extended period, like 10 days. The last time we were here was in 2022 during Covid, and everything was different. This time, we were able to enjoy the hotel, and the hotel's location is very good, too. It's so close to Yalong Bay. The hotel has its own swimming pools where kids can enjoy a lot of fun activities. The rooms were cleaned every day, and special thanks to Steve, who always helped us. The only thing we didn’t like about this hotel is that the furniture is a bit old, and the mattresses are not so comfortable. The breakfast at the hotel is almost the same every day. Also, it seems that food theft from the canteen is an issue that the staff needs to address. This year, there were many Russian people in the hotel, which made it feel less like being in China.

Location is good but a little bit far from the beach. Breakfast isn’t tasty, there are lot of children and noise. The renovation a little bit old.

The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. For those who want it less busy can use the pool in the villa area. The beach is in walking distance, also many restaurants, food stalls, a supermarket and a shopping center. What I didn't like is that they don't provide towels for the pool, not even in the rooms with a private pool. They only bring it one time on request. The WLAN at times is very bad.

There were definitely some positives and negatives about this hotel. First off, I will say the staff was very friendly. They would greet you with a smile wherever they saw you on property. I ate dinner at the poolside restaurant a few times and I enjoyed my food as well. Some negatives were that the hallway itself smelt moldy and nasty. Could be due to the carpeting, which was in bad condition, or all the old wood decor or a combo of both. My room smelt the same. The shower smelt like urine and some of the wood in the bathroom was rotting. I guess due to continuous exposure to water. I also didn’t like the fact that there was little accessibility for a stroller. Maybe I didn’t see it, but, to get down to the pool and most of the restaurants I only saw a staircase which was inconvenient to take my baby around. I did like the fact that it was right across the road from the beach, but, also somewhat far from the airport. Another positive is that they had a nice play area for the kids. My baby loved playing there. Everyone is different. Maybe you will enjoy this hotel. That is just a bit of my honest review.

great location, hotel cleaning of rooms average, swimming pools are great!

Strategic location. Close to everything. Beautiful views, very 'Bali' like. Staff can't really speak English though. Food is good. A ton of Chinese and Western options. 2mins walking distance from the beach. A shopping street right in the back of the hotel. Bike rental shops as well. Very family friendly. Not the best option for solo travelers perhaps. Pretty clean. Serivce in general is great. Parts of the pools were closed though, which was not mentioned when I booked it. I do reccommend though. I would definitely go back.

Great hotel choice and great value for money. Service oriented team, they hold what they promise. Great view. Clean rooms and great garden area. Lovely pool area. Nice frog concert to fall asleep with at night. Great for a romantic stay, enjoy alone, as couple or family. The concierge speaks very well English and is very helpful. 5* to him. Great breakfast - Chinese and international food. Near by are many restaurants with tasty food and a few shops too and just 10 min walk away from the beach. I would always be happy to return. Fun fact - I did actually return. 🤣🤩🤣.

Firstly the concierge at the front desk was easy to contact before arriving at the hotel. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary so I asked them to plan ahead whatever they could and they prepared some cake and a romantic bed setup. The front desk clerk was available at most times during the day if we had any questions or requests. The selected villa room was spacious and very comfortable. Room service did a good job daily and they were very understanding. The hotels facilities are pretty great. All maintained well. The location of the hotel is superb for yalong bay, it’s walking distance from the beach. The breakfasts weren’t bad either, and the breakfast time was up until 12:00 which is amazing. This was a fantastic experience and I’d recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Sanya for leisure.

A little old and no elevator otherwise great location and service.
