So glad we chose this hotel & location for our first time in Lagos (& Portugal)! The front desk staff is very helpful, the lobby is beautifully decorated & the entire hotel including our room is well kept & very clean. Breakfast is excellent as well which we opted to include upon booking. Our view of the marina is perfect (thankful for the blackout shades)! I’d highly recommend staying in hotel which is walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc. As mentioned in many of the reviews, the bathroom isn’t for everyone— I’d also point out that storage is minimal (even a few more hooks in the wash room would come in handy). It is a simple but beautiful room. I do not want to leave!

Beautiful hotel and prime location close to bus/trains. I received great service including excellent restaurant recommendations and tasty drinks from the bartender, Gabriel, at the rooftop pool bar. Breakfast was also delicious! I am very happy I decided to come to Lagos and choose this hotel.

We spent 3 nights in late September at this hotel. We had a room facing the marina, which is better than the other side (facing the bus station). The room itself was well appointed with a comfy bed and some shutters for the night. From our room on the 3rd floor, street noise was almost non existent. During our stay, we visited the restaurant downstairs for breakfast every morning (solid breakfast with great choice of eggs, omelet, pancake, selection of beverage incl. sparkling wine). We also visited the pool on the top floor. Pool was a bit cold for being heated. There were plenty of chairs to lounge the days we were there. All the staff was quite pleasant and provided some recommendations for food and activities. While I rated this as a 5* review, there are a few things that I would note (and are unlikely to change) 1. Room layout/lack of privacy - You effectively enter in a bathroom and there is no door to separate the bedroom. Not too bad for a couple... we were able to manage but could be awkward for others 2. Parking - Only 3 spots at the back are available at 10Eur per day. You can park across the marina for free

Nice hotel, concordance comfortable, clean, modern. Good location in central old town area, within walking distance from train station. Rooftop deck and pool are nice. The bar downstairs has some really nice cocktails. Front desk people were very nice and helpful. Enjoyed our brief stay At the higher end of cost compared to other hotels nearby but with the difference.

Great hotel overlooking the marina and close to the beaches and old city. Drove to the hotel they have 3 spots at the back of the hotel for guest parking and charging your EV. They don’t have a porter so you have to carry your bags to and from your room. Nice spacious rooms with a large balcony with table and sun decks. Breakfast was included and they had a good selection of cheese, fruits, cold cuts……The swimming pool is small with a limited number of sun decks but you’re only a few hundred yards away from the beach, the pool water was relatively warm compared to the oceans water so a nice positive

My husband and I have recently returned from The Avenida after a 10 night stay. We stayed in a Superior Room with a marina view. The room is a bit bigger than the standard rooms, it had two balconies, one of which was small and I think was only there for aesthetic purposes. We enjoyed the larger balcony which had a table and two chairs. The views from here are lovely, overlooking the majestic marina and bridge. We had the sun in the morning which rises right opposite the hotel. The hotel is situated on a busy road and the marina bridge gets very busy. It’s a great place to watch all the hustle and bustle. However, noise wasn’t an issue, once the patio doors are shut you can barely hear anything from the outside. The glass toilet wasn’t an issue for us and it really isn’t a problem. The room itself is bright and airy, the bed has to be the best one I’ve ever slept in whilst on holiday. So comfy after a day out and about and once the black out blinds were down we were out for the count. The one gripe I had was lack of storage space. There is literally what I call a gentleman’s closet, with hanging space for tops, skirts and shorts but no chance for dresses. There are a few shelves. Luckily, I use packing cubes and was able keep clothes and undies in them and I took a portable clothes stand to use for dresses. You would be ok for a few days but for a 10 night stay the storage isn’t adequate. This didn’t put me off the hotel, I just think this needs to be considered by the hotel management. The breakfasts were Michelin star in my view. Absolutely amazing. Need I say more? The roof top bar and pool were also very good. Great food and lunch snacks and such a relaxing vibe up there, with chilled out music. We used it most days after the beautiful beach which is only a 15 minute walk away. We noticed that passers by were pointing at the hotel and looking up at it, it really does stand out. We didn’t try the Michelin guide restaurant for dinner, it was a bit on the expensive side. We were spoiled for choice in Lagos for restaurants. However, if it was anything as good as the breakfast it was probably justifiable. Drinks were pricier than average, but you are paying for the privilege of being in a luxury hotel. All the staff were impeccable. The service from reception, restaurant, housekeeping and the roof top were second to none. Everyone was so professional and at the same time extremely friendly and approachable. All in all, we had a lovely time at The Avenida and Lagos. We will definitely return another day.

A great 3 night stay, reception were very helpful with local recommendations, good quality bar and good breakfast. The pool on the roof is cool but was too windy to use during our stay. The rooms are comfortable and modern but don’t have a proper bathroom - there are glass cubicles containing the toilet and shower and the sink is in the main room.
