Holiday Inn & Suites Sapporo Odori Park by IHG

Very helpful staff. Thank you! We had a great stay. Location is okay, close to shopping street, restaurants, combini. Room size is okay for 2 people. Also close to Odori park, but Walking to Odori station or Sapporo station, can be quite a distance, about 1-2km, which gave us about 20-40min exercise. Getting to hotel and back to airport by airport bus, was also convenient.

Good and convenient location. Walking distance to shopping area. Room was nice, but there was a musky smell in the toilet. Onsen facilities was nice

I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and nice, and they were even kind enough to offer me a late check-out at 1:00 PM, which I really appreciated. The room was spacious, the public bath was a great feature, and the self-service luggage storage was very convenient. the hotel is a bit of a walk from the metro, it is near a bus stop for the airport limousine. The breakfast variety was a bit more limited compared to other hotels I have visited. Overall, the hospitality made for a wonderful experience.

Gorgeous experience, having stayed for 3 nights, nice staff, facilities are new, particularly the public bath and gym. The daily breakfast is also great. Super good 👍

Loved that the hotel allows guests with tattoo to use the onsen though this wasn’t made known explicitly with written signs. Hotel was located at the end of Tanukoji so it’s a distance from the main area although still walkable. Note that the bathroom doesn’t have a space to put your dry clothes and you will have to wear it outside unless you do not mind the bottom of your pants getting wet. Not very convenient for mix gender groups even though there’s a blind you can draw but still be visible from the mirror reflection. Room was located in the annex building which has alot of stairs so not that convenient for elderlies too. Overall, decent hotel but recommended only if you have no issues walking or are driving.

A nice and new hotel. Good facilities. Morning breakfast sumptuous. Location near shopping district. Will come back again next time. Parking facilities nearby.

Super disappointing experience during my 3-night stay. I checked in around 11 PM after a long drive from Furano to Sapporo, only to be greeted by front desk staff who were not welcoming and could barely communicate in English. For context, I booked two Standard Twin Rooms. Unfortunately, I was assigned one corner room that was drastically different from the other room and from the photos shown during booking. I hope future guests are not unlucky enough to receive this particular layout. The corner room was extremely cramped, had no table at all, required climbing a large step to access the toilet, and the layout was so poor that if the toilet door was open, the main room door could barely function properly. The room felt nothing like the advertised layout and was significantly smaller and less functional compared to the second Standard Twin Room I was assigned. The worst part was how the situation was handled by the reception staff. When I politely raised my concerns and explained that the room was very different from what I had booked, one staff member sarcastically responded that guests are not allowed to choose their rooms and insisted that the corner room was considered the same room type. He then showed me a room layout that did not even match my actual room configuration. When I questioned why my room was missing basic furniture such as tables and chairs, and why it was so different from both the advertised layout and my second booking, he sarcastically told me to “ask Trip.com” about the room layout and why there was no table. This was honestly shocking service, especially coming from an IHG property and a Holiday Inn Suites. If the hotel intends to assign significantly different room layouts under the same category, the least they could do is handle guest concerns professionally and attempt some form of service recovery instead of responding with attitude and sarcasm. To be fair, the property itself was clean, and I did encounter some pleasant reception staff on other days of my stay. However, overall this was easily the worst hotel experience out of the five hotels I stayed at during my Hokkaido trip, and among the many IHG properties I have stayed at worldwide. Communication in English was extremely difficult, and instead of trying to assist using translation tools or showing patience, some staff came across as rude and judgmental. The use of sarcasm when a guest raises legitimate concerns is completely unacceptable. I initially wanted to take down the staff member’s name for formal feedback, but decided to move on after meeting more helpful staff later during my stay. Still, I sincerely hope management addresses these service issues so that future guests do not go through a similar experience. Unfortunately, I will not return to this property. I regret changing my booking to this hotel expecting a higher standard because it was marketed as a Holiday Inn Suites and an IHG property.

1. Hotel located near Odori Park metro station 2. Surrounded with many eating houses and the famous shopping street Tanukikojo Streets are also just few minutes walk from the hotel. 3. Hotel lobby and hotel restaurant are located in main building, and our room were in 2nd building. 4. There were coin-operated washer+dryer in some of the floors hence which is quite convenience for guests to use. 5. Breakfast were so so. 6. I have stayed in Holiday Inn hotel many times (1st time in Japan) and this is the 1st time i see Dove brand for shower and hair shampoo. Overall the hotel met my expectations.
