Hotel Grand recensioner

An old hotel in need of renovation. Its location is far from the city center and is located in a dark area at night. The breakfast is varied but tasteless. The reception is bad.

We needed to stay somewhere close to the Sarajevo train station, and Hotel Grand is perfectly located just a short walk away (5-10 minutes). The staff was friendly and even prepared a small breakfast bag for us since we were leaving so early. However the room itself was rather bare-bones, and the shower drain was clearly clogged leading to a lot of flooding. There were exposed electrical wiring in the room and the hallways smelled a bit like an ashtray. Was okay for the money, but not really recommended.

Tl:dr The only upside of this hotel is its price. Check-in said 13:00 but when we arrived at the reception, the hotel staff told us that we could check-in after 15:00. They at least gave us a room which they said was ready and we could leave our luggage. But this room was 12m2 without AC. We were told that we could change our room for a 18 m2 with AC (which we selected and payed extra) the next day but that didn’t happen. The room wasn’t clean, there were long hairs on the floor of our room. Only one electrical plug which is away from where the beds are. We had booked 3 nights and had paid upfront. We wanted to cancel the 3rd night but again the hotel didnt let us cancel it, saying that the agency we made the booking from didn’t allow for refunds. We contacted Trip.com to shorten our stay but they also couldn’t help, they couldn’t contact the hotel. Also during breakfast the hotel staff was quite mean when we exceeded 10:00 am. Instead of a friendly reminder that the breakfast time was over, we got an annoyed hotel staff complaining to us.

For those with time to enjoy Sarajevo Grand Hotel offers all you need as well as a glimpse into one of the many 'Grand' hotels with fitting that encapsulate the former Yugoslavia. Breakfast although basic was within expectations for the price point. The 'Sarajevo 1984' Olympic colors on the chairs I thought were a nice nod to the past. The room was modest but included everything I needed as a solo traveller and was cleaned every couple of days. Lack of AC was the only thing that made the trip slightly less comfortable. There is a bar on a maisonette floor that serves drinks all day till around 11PM. The staff were courteous and helpful. For those who don't have a car, taxi can be ordered from the front desk or you can walk 5 minutes to the Railway Station and nearest Tram/Bus stops. The observation tower is nearby, the Ottoman city is around 30 minutes on foot. I would stay again. 👍

Great breakfast, nice staff. It’s a walking distance to the bus station.

I thought the breakfast was the best part of my stay. It was very tasty. Checkin and checkout were easy and service was good. The location was convenient and not far from the bus terminal. While these are all positives, the hotel itself needs some updating with more modern designs and better amenities in the room. Heat did not work very well. Nor the hot water and this is important during winter time.

It is comfortable hotel with good breakfast.

I went there first times but It’s very nice place and staff are kind. Included breakfast. The meal is not bad but No soup. I stayed 6 days. (Cash 3days) later l’ll go there if I go Sarajevo.

친절, 블랙퍼스트 훌륭, 방은 깨끗함. 올드타운까지 트램 6정거장으로 멀지 않으나, 트램 스테이션까지 약 15~20분 걸어야 함

Hôtel datant de l'époque soviétique, au charme désuet et qui mériterait d'être sérieusement rafraîchi. Après, le risque serait qu'il perde cette atmosphère vintage " style guerre froide". Ma chambre était spacieuse mais un peu bruyante car construite à une époque où l'isolation importait peu. Ma réservation par trip.com ne figurait pas sur le listing du jour mais ça s'est arrangé en 5 mn. Les alentours de l'hôtel sont à l'abandon mais il est facile de s'y garer. Le p'tit dej est assez quelconque et le personnel est en pilotage automatique. Cependant, à 35€ l la nuit, l'expérience valait la peine d'être vécue.
