Franklin Manor

We stayed in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Suite. Beautiful room though a bit warm in the evening since it faces west. House has an interesting history. Gorgeous, restored house. Close to restaurants. Highly recommend.

We stayed here three nights in June 2023 for a canoe trip. The house is huge and beautifully maintained, the rooms are spacious and very nice. There are so many pretty sitting areas -- screened porch, library, parlor, living room. Breakfast was yummy -- a different home made thing every morning. The hosts were very friendly and told us lots of interesting things about the house and the area. And they were very helpful -- after a morning of paddling in the rain, everything we owned was sopping wet and they very kindly ran it through their dryer. We stayed in St. Gertrude which does have the bathroom in the hallway, but it is only for this room and we never saw anyone else. The only mildly annoying thing was the extra fee for cleaning -- I've never seen that for a B&B and it seems like it should be part of the room cost.

Franklin Manor is the listing in the dictionary to define a Bed and Breakfast. Fantastic. Extraordinary house…dare I say mansion. Beautiful furnishings. Owners are young and super responsive, yet not intrusive. Breakfast was terrific. Bed was oh so comfortable. Bathroom was updated with new fixtures. Inside was as lovely as the outside. Wait until you see the woodwork inside. And if you have a choice, try to get in the Mt. Carmel room. Stay here and you will not be disappointed.

The Franklin Manor Bed and Breakfast is located in easy walking to the Ice Castle and downtown establishments. This historic house is in very good care of Carly & Rob, who are wonderful hosts. Our room, St. John the Baptist, is on the second floor and included a King size bed, well accompanied furnishings, private bathroom and plenty of room for us. The manor has secure entrance parking and access. Although this was in February, the manor is comfortably heated. A reasonable breakfast was provided and there are snacks provided as well as a small refrigerator and snack area on the second floor. We were only here for 1 night, but are looking forward to returning again as it is very inviting and we felt very comfortable.
