Chateau de Varenne

We visited Chateau de Varenne for two nights in June and when arriving was instantly in awe of its beauty! Situated in a charming French village you enter through large gates to park the car in a safe spacious car park. Walking up to the chateau the ground were beautiful - full of gorgeous plants and flowers. On entering the chateau we were wowed by its beauty and met immediately by owner Emma. Check in was easy and Emma showed us around the chateau before taking us our gorgeous room which was just as beautiful as the photos! The pool area is just perfect - areas of shade and sun and lovely comfortable sun loungers - all towels are provided so you don’t need to bring those along - even wicker bag is offered for use during your stay! Breakfast was one of the highlights - coming down in the morning onto the spectacular Patio area overlooking the gardens and trees - the tables are laid with pretty linens and tea and coffee was quick to arrive. The breakfast buffet consisted of all continental treats - croissants, pastries, baguettes, eggs, meat, cheese, yoghurts, granola - the list goes on! Throughout our stay all staff were so attentive and Emma the owner was just fantastic from start to finish. Always on hand for a chat or advice - the service at the Chateau was just superb. We absolutely loved our trip and are planning our return next year. Thank you!

Emma and Paul are wonderful hosts! The Chateau is absolutely charming and the grounds beautiful. We really enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning. Would highly recommend! And if you go, say hello to Woody the Chateau mascot. Bon voyage!

Absolute perfection! If you dream of a stay in the French countryside all your dreams will come true at Chateau de Varenne! Our family of five stayed for 5 nights at the end of July and it was magical, like being in a fairytale! The property and the chateau are exquisite, the rooms regal, gorgeous and impeccably clean, and Emma and Paul provide the kindest, most attentive, helpful and lovely service, yet still make you feel like you have the place all to yourself. The delicious breakfast on the terrace, the beautiful pool, and the ping pong were loved by us and especially our three children. We are already dreaming of going back!

My husband and I stayed in Chateau de Varenne for 3 nights in July 2024. This chateau is an exclusive historical boutique hotel with the fantastic location in a small town of Sauveterre: 10-minute walk to the Cotes du Rhone vineyards, 20 minute-drive from Avignon and Orange, as well as Chateneuf du Pape. It has a beautiful park and terrace with a lovely view of the Rhone valley, the best possible place for breakfast. We appreciated an elegant room and the overall chateau interiors, cleanness, outdoor swimming pool in the park, and a wonderful very personable service. The Radford family, which owns the chateau, and the staff (Stephanie and Marc) made our stay outstanding. They made us to feel as we were the special guests and helped in all aspects, which we wanted to address. What impressed us in the chateau is the balance of noble sophistication of the XVIII century with friendly laid-back communication style of the XXI century. We highly recommend Chateau de Varenne as marvelous hotel in Provence.
