Casa Makawe Only Adults

FANTASTIC stay @ Casa Makawe. Great location - near town but enough away to avoid the late night noise. Our room was spacious and very accommodating. The kitchen setup had everything we might need and more - microwave, toaster oven, toaster, coffeemaker, blender and hot water kettle. Nice terrace for relaxing over coffee in the morning. The rooftop pool space is lovely. Our plan had breakfast included at the affiliated - adjacent restaurant , Sur 38, which was fantastic. Aaron, the “boss”, was very responsive and awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Casa Makawe was absolutely perfect for our stay in Sayulita! - Communication: Amazing! The host was fantastic about communicating prior to our arrival, during our stay, and after we left. He was incredibly kind and honest! (We accidentally left a large sum of cash behind in our room and didn't realize it until after we were on our way back to the states. The host went above and beyond to ensure we got our money back. You don't find this level of honesty and customer service often and we are so incredibly appreciative!) - Location: Ideal! Very close walking distance to the beach, town square and all the restaurants/shops but just far enough away to be nice and quiet at night. There is a little shop for necessities right by Casa Makawe, along with two fantastic restaurants (Sur 38 and Yay Yay Sayulita Cafe). - Accommodations: Wonerful! We stayed in room 301. The room is as pictured in the photos. It's a large room with two balconies facing different directions. There are 2 AC units and 3 ceiling fans to keep the room nice and cool. The kitchen has everything needed to cook a meal. The coffee pot is a drip maker (not k-cup) in case you bring your own filters/coffee. The sink has a filtered water tap for drinking water (that we drank without issue) and there's a pitcher to fill and keep in the fridge. The bed and pillows were super comfy. The walk-in shower was huge with a rainfall showerhead and plenty of hot water. Overall, we highly recommend Casa Makawe and look forward to staying there again!

My friends and I rented out every room for a birthday stay and when I say this was the most epic spot and time in all of Sayulita, I'm not kidding. The accommodations were fantastic and Aaron was the most gracious host. The location is within a 5-10 minute walk to the square and the beach. The rooftop has a beautiful view of Sayulita during the day and night. The restaurant downstairs "Sur 38" was an ideal and convenient food option. It helps that everything I had was so dang good! Sur 38 fantastic idea when we didn't want to venture too far from the Rooftop. Every one of the staff members were friendly and attentive to our needs. Our DJ friends were able to play on a speaker that was available from Aaron (with advance notice.) You know you're liveing that Sayulita lifestyle when random folks are trying to figure out how to get up to the rooftop! We lived on the roof! 10/10 We will return!

Amazing hotel with gorgeous art and rooftop pool. Perfect location and they have a delicious restaurant downstairs too! Really enjoyed our stay, the hospitality was top notch. The beds were comfortable, rooms were large with nice balconies, and everything was incredibly clean and well taken care of. Really appreciated having a full kitchen in our room. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Horrible customer service doesn't adequately convey my experience at Casa Makawe. Abelardo and his staff were actively hostile. I came late in a friend's visit to CW to spend several days with her. Abelardo demanded extra payment, despite the room's capacity being three, and demanded that payment be made outside of Airbnb via cash. Abelardo proceeded to follow and intimidate my friend and I. We are two females alone in a foreign country. He sent many messages on Airbnb and would take my friend aside in person to mention where and when he saw our comings and goings on his cameras. He and his maintenance manager would glare at us every time we passed by them. There was one day he stood in the staircase when my friend needed to get by and would not move; I assume as means of intimidation. We rented a golf cart and asked where it needed to be parked and he demanded payment prior to telling us the location. Abelardo exhibited exploitive behavior. Admittedly, my friend and I could have read the details of this Airbnb more closely. We did not realize my presence or the request for extra towels one week into my friend's 19 day stay would be such an issue. We responded to his requests kindly, however, and were met with wildly inappropriate hostility. He will require that you pay for extra towels and cleaning, regardless of length of stay. He will demand payment for guests that vary in amounts from day to day depending on his mood. When we lost power and WiFi for a full day, we were just out of luck. He will make your stay unbelievably uncomfortable. There are better priced, better staffed locations throughout the town. I would not recommend this Airbnb to anyone, but I would actually vehemently recommend that female guests stay away. You will not feel safe in a building owned by Abuelardo. We ended up leaving in the middle of our stay and going to a delightful hotel in Northside that cost less, had better amenities, and had a warm and welcoming staff.

We had a wonderful five night stay at Casa Makawe (Adults only). Juan was extremely helpful and answered our questions quickly. The roof top pool was nice and relaxing with views of Sayulita. We booked a queen bed and worked great for us, the room had a full kitchen and a hammock to lounge in. Casa Makawe is just a few minutes from the town center and 5-10min to the beach. There is a small restaurant Sur38 and a coffee shop 50 feet from the main entrance of the Casa.
