Just enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay at this lovely guest house.Greeted on arrival by hosts John & Julie,who are so friendly and accommodating.The room was spacious,warm and very comfortable.The breakfast was superb,with good choices,and we enjoyed our time spent at the bar on an evening.Nothing is too much trouble to John & Julie,who take great pride in what they do.Thankyou..Andy & Angela xx

First time to the almar. I went down with my mum as we had a funeral. My mum has been there a few times. John and julie are really nice hosts. Very attentitive and polite. I cant fault them. I had a single room which was perfect for what i needed. Modern equipment like tv and electric shower. Also had a fan and mini heater. Slept well took a while for me to sleep but thats new surroundings for me. Nothing to do with the room. Breakfast was fantastic all fresh and cooked brilliantly. Will definatly be back at some point. Booked this last minute and what a find. Hosts John & Julie were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was absolutely superb and piping hot as it was freshly cooked to order. There was also Yoghurt, fresh fruit and cereals available and specials which John told us about. Room was very clean and plentiful tea coffee and biscuits available. There is a nice bar to have a drink and socialise after a long day. This is a fantastic place to stay in Scarborough, give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.

John and Julie are brilliant hosts, nothing too much trouble for them. Breakfast is a delicious choice of cooked, cereal, fruit salad and plenty more to choose from. Their bar in the evening is great meeting place to chat and laugh, the atmosphere is great.

Fantastic hotel john and Julie perfect hosts..the room was very comfortable the breakfast probably the best i have had ...the location ideal for the north bay and 15 min walk into town.....a great bar to sit and chat after a long day .. We will be back .....

My husband and I have just been for another long weekend in our favourite hotel in Scarborough. As always, there was a warm greeting awaiting us as we walked through the doorway. Julie and John are such natural hosts, making all their guests feel welcome. Their hotel is always spotlessly clean and the bedrooms are tastefully decorated, with refreshments replenished each day. The breakfasts are excellent and a drink in the bar at night is highly recommended The Almar is also very well situated, within easy walking distance for the north beach, Peasholm Park. Another short walk up the hill takes you to the shopping centre, the south beach and bus and railway stations.

Still here go home tomorrow Extended our stay by another day Breakfast is amazing John and julie are lovely hosts Great nights sleep all the 3 nights we were there First time we have ever stayed over in Scarborough and we will definitely come back Almar is away from centre which we found great Went into Filey twice to see family Fantastic Nice little bar downstairs with a good stock and good prices Well done to the Almar

Brilliant time I just had a the almar, the rooms are lovely and very comfortable. John and Juile you should be so very proud of yourselves, it’s a really lovely place with brilliant and delicious breakfast served fresh every morning. Will be back soon!
