Hotel Kernen

We were upgraded to a "south" facing room. It was quite roomy, furnished with new-looking pine furniture (desk, small table, 3 chairs). Ceiling lined with pine planks, rustic curtains. Very nice little balcony (table + 2 chairs). Size of the room more than adequate and SPOTLESSLY clean (like everything else in the hotel). Bathroom looked like it was remodelled yesterday (clean!!). The large bed (king size) very comfortable. This side of the hotel very quiet, in spite of facing the rail station. Almost no noise from fellow guests. Possible minuses: No minibar, no coffee maker, but an immense menu for available room service. On the main floor a cozy "lobby"/reading room with soft (extremely low!) sofas - again very quiet and inviting. Every afternoon on the main floor free coffee/tea and cake (homemade). The restaurant is not inexpensive, but the food is exceptional, as is the service (the kitchen serves food continuously from lunch to late night). Make reservations early, since the place fills up fast. The personnel very capable and efficient. Kitchen a bit slow (but not by Swiss standards...). But the wait is worth it. The breakfast buffet is sumptuous: I.e. smoked salmon; cold cuts, a big selection of local cheeses, eggs cooked to order (diy), terriffic breads. Free parking; electric car charging station on premises. The owner Bruno Kernen sees to it that everything runs as it should and is very personable and most helpful (as is the whole staff). In sum: Everything is as described in the official description and ratings. But the reality is much, much better than the theory promises.

We had a 5 day stay here. The hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and would do anything to help. Our rooms were small, with very comfortable beds, shutters for black out effect, the shower was excellent . The location was great for skiing. The ski hire shop was across the road, the main chair lift was a very short walk away and the train station was across the road. The resort was excellent for the kids learning to ski, with lots of long blue runs. We stayed bed and breakfast, breakfast was continental style and very good. We ate dinner twice in the hotel, the restaurant was always busy and the food was good. Bruno, the owner was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A lovely place, thanks !

Alle sind unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das hotel liegt super zentral zu den skigebieten, eines unmittelbar in der Nähe, 5 Minuten mit skischuh, alles eben und 25 Minuten von glacier 3000 entfernt. Die Pisten haben si voll im Griff trotz wärmere Tagen. Auf der Piste empfehlen wir das restaurant chämistubä

Der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm. Die Auswahl am Frühstücksbuffet war super und auch das Abendessen war sehr lecker. An der Rezeption wurden wir gut beraten betreffen Ausflügen. Wir können das Hotel wärmsten weiterempfehlen. Bis bald.

Sehr gepflegtes, gemütliches,persönlich geführtes Hotel. Der Chef begrüsst die Gäste mit Handschlag und ein paar netten Worten, es gibt viele Stammgäste - auch wir waren früher schon hier. Das Personal ist ausserordentlich freundlich - im Service, an der Receprion und in der Raumpflege. Das Frühstücksbuffet lässt keine Wünsche offen und das Birchermüesli ist hervorragend. Wenn wir wieder einmal im schönen Berneroberland sind, werden wir bestimmt wieder im Hotel Kernen übernachten und hoffe, dass ein Zimmer frei sein wird!

Accueil très chaleureux. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. Tout le personnel était très sympathique. Nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir durant ces 3 jours. Le petit déjeuner était très copieux et le repas du soir délicieux. Nous avons également apprécié le fait de pouvoir louer directement à l'hôtel un magnifique Ebike pour découvrir des supers parcours de vtt. Nous reviendrons.
