The good part is that my room was recently redone and spotlessly clean. The king-sized bed was very comfortable and I utilized the generously-sized refrigerator/freezer & microwave. There is abundant free ice but NO BREAKFAST in spite of the claim. The pool does not appear to have any good future. The bad part is because of the manager. I am a 65 YO woman traveling solo but he still wouldn’t give me a room on the first floor and he watched me haul four loads of stuff for a family gathering, including a heavy ice chest, up and down the stairs. The card keys didn’t work so he twice had to come up to see about it, telling me that my phone had de-magnetized them—I told him I’ve travelled extensively and that had never been a problem before. Then he had to come up twice to get the cable TV to work. In all of these exchanges, he treated me poorly I believe due to his prejudices against older women. When I checked out, he said he was unable to give me a receipt because I’d reserved/pre-paid on Priceline! It was only after I demanded the receipt or some sort of signed statement to verify that the bill was fully paid that he magically produced a receipt. I rolled my eyes and said “Oh. A receipt!” as I walked out. This unhappy man needs a new job that has nothing to do with the hospitality industry!
