First impressions!! First impressions..... On arrival at your hotel my partner was greeted by Paul and I wasn't even acknowledged very rude !! No hello no nothing !! Angela was just as bad ignoring me whilst bringing dinner out and not really chatting... I have worked in customer service most of my life and if I was having a bad day would never take it out on anyone else and hospitality should be exactly the same in my opinion.... And the bed was really hard !! Lots of noise coming from within the building of an evening Don't think I'll be returning here Room 4 is very small for 2 and the toilet seat isn't very stable .... on the first morning we asked for our room not to be cleaned but Angela insisted that it had be done ?? When breakfast arrived my partners was looking nice , I ordered a bacon sandwich which when arrived the bacon was put on top of one slice of unbuttered bread and other slice was just on the plate ....So I had to remove and butter the bread which isn't my idea of a hand made sandwich,also had to ask for toast which wasn't offered to me but was to my partner .... Had a feeling that the owners didn't like me !! Is it because I have tattoos ?? Friday morning breakfast time ; was exactly the same as yesterday and when Paul came to clear the tables there was no communication from him to either of us .... Appalling!!! So all in all I feel if you've got tattoos don't bother going !!!

Thank you so much to Paul & Angela for such an amazing stay! Both of you were very accommodating and we are so grateful for all of your recommendations for places to visit around the Lake District. Breakfast was beautiful. The room was spotless, and Paul & Angela couldn’t do enough for us. ‘Home away from home….!’. We will definitely be back! Also make sure to pop down to the beach when you visit!! Thanks again

Brilliant stay. The owners couldn’t do enough for us. The owners (Angela and Paul) recommended The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway for one of the days we were staying. It’s not too far away from the lodge. Great steam train experience! Also went up Scafell Pike, again only a short drive away from the Lodge. Will definitely be returning.

We stayed here again in late May. The weather was fantastic and as always Paul and Angela were the best of hosts. They honestly couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. Great hosts, fantastic rooms, food and all in a great location. Will be back in September.

My husband, myself & the kids have stayed here several times since it opened. The last time being May. The weather was fantastic & as always Paul and Angela were the fantastic, attentive hosts. They went above and beyond for us. They couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts are amazing so plentiful & cooked to perfection! The bedrooms were spotless & super comfy. Fantastic hosts, comfy rooms, amazing food. Great location & plenty to do in the surrounding areas. Can’t wait for our next trip down In August!

A group of 4 of us stayed at the Cumbrian Lodge ahead of taking on the Coast to Coast in a day cycle ride. Paul and Angela were amazing from booking to the point of check out and accommodate our dinner and very early 4:30am breakfast requested. All round the staying at the hotel give us the right start to take on the C2C in a day and I would highly recommend staying at the Cumbrian Lodge. Clean rooms, friendly welcome and amazing home cooked food and breakfast!!! Thank you Paul and Angela!!!!

A perfect getaway - it’s such a lovely, friendly place. The hosts Paul & Angela are so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are immaculate & the breakfast’s are amazing! Perfect location for visiting stunning lakes & scenic locations , Scafelll Pike nearby & the beach. Absolutely one of the best places I’ve stayed & will definitely be recommending it & returning for another visit.

Clean, bright and comfortable room. Hot fresh delicious breakfast. Welcoming, friendly and accommodating hosts and great staff. We loved our stay and would highly recommend. This truly is a gem. Close to the beach and easy parking. Not one negative thing to say. It was a pleasure.

Stayed one night , last minute booking due to work appointment & I will certainly stay again when in the area. The hosts Paul & Angela were warm and friendly throughout, Room was clean , well appointed, quiet and did the job perfectly. A very minor gripe was the bed was a tad firm for me but I get that this is very much a matter of personal taste . And so to breakfast…..and what a breakfast ! Freshly made to order, Piping hot, fine ingredients and plenty of it too ! One of the best breakfast I’ve had , and I’ve had a few In my time . I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. .
