Pugdundee Safaris - Pench Tree Lodge recensioner

Staying at the lodge has been like living a dream. Deep in the forest but all comfort imaginable. Highly recommend to visit Pench national park. The naturalist guides are highly skilled and the personnel vary welcoming and friendly. Don't miss it!

We stayed at Pench Tree Lodge, a beautiful retreat on the edge of the forest. Three safaris, endless wildlife, and the absolute thrill of spotting three majestic tigers up close! I'm still buzzing from the experience. When we weren’t out chasing big cats, we spent our time reading on the balcony with jungle views and birdsong, cooling off in the pool, and indulging in the most flavorful, farm-to-table meals made from fresh organic produce. A 10/10 getaway ❤️

We spent 4 great nights at Tree House #4. The treehouse is well appointed with a great bathroom with a hot shower ( took less than 10 minutes to get hot water once you turned on the switch for the water heater). Shampoo, conditioner and lotion are provided in glass bottles. There is a lovely porch overlooking the jungle. My first afternoon there were monkeys on the tree in front of our treehouse. There is a station for tea and coffee, plenty of water flasks in the entry way. There are ceiling fans and AC in the treehouse. The treehouse was kept clean and there was a turndown done while you were at dinner. You never saw hospitality staff while you were in the treehouse. There is a phone in the room should you need any additional towels etc. service was prompt when we called for anything. The beds are big and comfortable, and when staff did turndown at night, a mosquito net was set up. Lunch and dinner was very good and there was a farm dinner one night with dishes from the immediate region. While the chef always came by at lunch and went over dinner menu and always checked if you wanted anything different than the dinner planned. There was a large variety of items on the menu. I always left very full from the meals. Breakfast in the park also had plenty of variety. The chef also inquired if you have any dietary restrictions and was very accommodating of any restrictions or requests. Majority of the vegetables and herbs are grown on the property and those that aren’t are sourced locally. The reason we were there was to see animals, specifically tigers and leopards and the park did not disappoint. Our naturalist Shiv was amazing. He knew animal behavior well and would predict which direction the cats were going to move. We had 7 tiger and 4 leopard sightings. Additionally lots of other animals and birds. The landscape of the park is beautiful. The mornings are a little chilly and blankets were provided. You are greeted with a warm towel to clean up and a refreshing drink when you get back from safari. There are a fair number of steps to get to the treehouse and it is a much longer walk to the tree houses than the cottages, so if you have any mobility issues, I’d opt for a cottage. Service throughout the lodge was great. I would love to go back for a visit

Pugdundee is like a family to me now. This was my second visit to Tree Lodge and the experience bench mark and hospitality standard are the way have been. Chef Gaurav indulged us with his interesting and delicious menu's and made it a point to have a conversation on our choices for the next day including carry on breakfast for safari. The dining staff ensured that we are looked after and we enjoy the food and surroundings by being present but still not present. Safari with Radhey sir was an experience, his knowledge and experience makes him the "boss". Last time, leopards were on the show, this time Tigers came to front. More specifically my friends who were doing this for the first time enjoyed the overall experience and hospitality of Pugdundee. A big thank you to entire team for accommodating request for add on in safari or arranging pick up from Nagpur at a short notice. We were pampered and were happy to be with people who are to me are my friends and family

Excellent location of the property and their property maintenance is top notch! The rooms are cleaned at least 3 times a day to ensure that no insects make their way inside. Food was excellent and the ambience created in the restaurant gives a home-like feel. Truly appreciate Chef Gaurav and Team (Vinod, Krishna and Abhilasha) for making us feel at home. Our safari experience with Radhe Nagpure was adventurous and memorable. We had very good sightings of not only the tigers but other wildlife too! Do not miss the Kipling Hide and here too Radhe was excellent in helping with bird watching! Overall, a great place to relax, to have some adventure and enjoy wildlife! Thanks Omkar Bhatt and Team!!

We thoroughly loved our stay here. The game drives Radhe were incredible. He clearly knows the park and is expert at finding the spots where tigers and leopards are. In addition, he was so informative about other animals, birds and plants. We were also very impressed with the lodge itself. Our treehouse room was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. All staff were eager to serve and especially kind.

Incredible staff. It was clear they went out of their way while at the Safari lodge and in Pench National Park to serve the guests. The treehouse that we stayed in was roomy, very clean, comfortable, and inviting. The service during meals was exceptional. What a joy it was to go on the Safaris. Our naturalist was very knowledgeable helpful and we could tell he was motivated to ensure we had great animal sightings. We would highly recommend Pench Tree Lodge!

It’s a place we would like to go back to. The rooms, the food, the well trained and hospitable staff was a delight. Omkar and team were really helpful. Shiva our naturalist and Sharda our guide were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We had a great Leopard sighting.

This lodge is beautiful and clean. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The chef speaks with you at every meal. The safari's are amazing, the forest is breathtaking. Naturalists and local guides make it a wonderful experience. Tigers, Leopards and Wild Dogs! So happy to visit this serene setting in India. I already want to go back.

We stayed in one of the tree houses an amazing experience, all the comforts of home and more . Food was so nice all the staff so friendly. Our guide / naturalist was Radhe he was fantastic super knowledgeable and friendly a real asset to Pench . We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

Wow, what an experience. We came to see tigers and were not disappointed. In all on 5 drives we saw 9, 4 of which were very close up. All this was down to our guide and driver Shiv, who was just unbelievable. We could not have asked for or got a beater ***, thank you so much. Tigers apart the accommodation is fantastic and the food, m out of this world. Every meal, including the safari breakfasts, were personally explained by the Executive Chef. We were treated to a bush dinner and a local village dinner. We cannot recommend Pench too highly just amazing.

We traveled to India in February as a couple and with our adult niece. We booked directly through Pugdundee Safaris which included all car transfers that were safe and comfortable. We spent 3 comfortable nights at Pench Tree Lodge and 2 fabulous days on safari. The safari experiences (4) were incredible with excellent driver/guide Radhe. We were amazed at his ability to spot animals and birds as he drove. We saw tigers both days, a breeding pair of leopards, a leopard coming down a tree (a gift of an experience!), gaur, deer, golden jackals, a jungle cat and so many birds! Radhe could identify a butterfly as it flew over us! The drive to the park was interesting as we passed through a local village and we enjoyed waving to the children an seeing their way of life. At Pench Tree Lodge we stayed in one of the spacious cottages which included a second bed in the loft but we did not use it. The main bed was comfortable, there was a lovely shaded back porch and the shower was hot. The cottage had AC which we used during the day but not at night. The sliding glass doors had screens and we love the night sounds! The only negative about the cottages is that they are close together and the AC running at the neighbors reduced our enjoyment of the night sounds. In retrospect, we would absolutely pay the extra for the tree house cottages for distance from other cottages. The pool was delightfully cold and clean and was a nice place to cool off before lunch. Dining at Pench Tree Lodge was superb and we were served delicious and healthy Indian cuisine. We think there was an option for western food but we loved the Indian food served and did not try it. Service was attentive and courteous. Dinner was served at 7:30 pm. Breakfast was served on safari. One dinner was served in their beautiful organic garden and it was delightful. The garden itself warrants a visit as it is lovely and well tended. One in our party had a food intolerance which was handled well by the kitchen. We enjoyed our stay at Pench Tree Lodge very much, just wish we had spent at least one more night and had a tree house!

We stayed in Cottage 1 which was nice and private with a verandah from which we saw a mongoose, some wild boar and a wooly neck stork. The high ceiling room was clean and comfortable and the food very nice. Early morning safaris start off very cold especially with the 20 minute ride to the park gate, so the blanket and hot water bottle provided were very appreciated! Unfortunately the night trail was unavailable. Would suggest that staff stop turning down the beds in the evening and changing towels when not requested as this is unnecessary.

Had a lovely 3 nights at this resort. Nice rooms, excellent food, well maintained personal resort Jeeps and impeccable service!!! Outstanding service and food in fact👍👍. We stayed in the tree house and it's definitely worth it, as it's a very different experience altogether. Just needs maybe an additional lamp or another light in the bedroom. Rest is great. The toilets also have a real jungle feel🐅🐅😊😊 Had some great sighting too, a leopard up close and personal!! And a tiger at a distance ..snoozing away💕 Great trip all in all and look to return.
