ION HOTEL Dongdaemun

I traveled alone on this trip, and this place turned out to be a really great choice for solo travelers. The room might be a bit small, but I found it cozy and just right for one person. It was very clean and looked quite new. The decoration was cute, and all the essential amenities were provided. However, the bathroom was quite small and there was no separation between the toilet and the shower. Still, it was clean and had shampoo and soap ready to use. The front desk staff were super friendly and could communicate well in English. They even let me check in before the official check-in time — which was amazing! Most impressively, they kept my umbrella safe after I accidentally dropped it in the lobby. I really appreciated that. The hotel is also very conveniently located, just about 300 meters from Exit 3 of Dongdaemun Station. There’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel too. Plus, there are plenty of shops and a 7-Eleven right at the front. I absolutely loved staying here. If I get the chance to visit South Korea again, I’ll definitely stay here again!

1 min walk from metro exit 3, really very convenient Staff at counter and nice, he greets me every time I passed through. 3 bottles of water provided at room and on request if required. A drinking machine and microwave is on 1st floor free for use. House keeping is on request only. I enjoy my stay here

Suitable for solo traveler. The location was good, closed to subway and airport bus. The room was very clean.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel as it goes beyond my expectations! Staffs are very friendly and willing to accommodate to my needs their service is A+. It’s a relatively new hotel so everything is new. It’s conveniently situated near to city bus, airport bus and subway thus, it’s easy to get to anywhere in. They provide free water bottles in the room. There’s bidet and they even provide huge towel. Free coffee and tea provided at the lobby and there’s a microwave where you can use to heat your food. Bed is cozy and it’s true that their TV is huge 😂 i really like the room that i feel reluctant to go outside. Also, there’s a window overlooking the residential homes and it’s nice to see the view. Sad that i only booked this hotel for one night should have extended my stay. Surely, i will stay at this hotel again for my next visit.

The mini single room was clean, cozy, and I could full opened my 24 inches luggage in the room. There are lot of Korean restaurants nearby the hotel (some open on 8am and can go for breakfast), walking distance to a few big shopping malls at Dongdaemun area. It was also within 5 mins walk to bus stop, where can take airport bus 6002 directly to Incheon airport. This is few first stops for bus 6002 to airport, hence no need to worry about no seats and spaces for luggage in the bus. In addition, can walk from hotel to Naksan Fortress Walk Trail and Naksan Park via Heunginjimun gate (Dongdaemun gate) for a panoramic view of Seoul, especially at night. Although had to walk pass an alley between buildings to the hotel main entrance, but the alley (besides a 7-11 store) was short, clean and with bright light at night. There were also a few food stalls in front of the alley, which opened till late night, hence feel ok even walked alone back to hotel at night.
