**Hotel Review: Mercure Ambassador Seoul Hongdae (Stay: 2 Nov - 5 Nov)** I recently stayed at the Mercure Ambassador Seoul Hongdae for a 4-night stay from November 2nd to November 5th, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Our group booked two family rooms and one king room, and I’ll share the highlights and a few areas for improvement. ### Location: 5/5 The location of the hotel is fantastic. It’s situated in the vibrant Hongdae area, which is well-known for its trendy cafes, restaurants, and lively atmosphere. Whether you’re in the mood for local Korean food, international cuisine, or a casual snack, there are plenty of options within walking distance. Plus, the Hongdae subway station is just a short walk away, making it very convenient for getting around Seoul. ### Rooms: 3.5/5 The rooms, while clean and comfortable, were a bit on the small side. We stayed in two family rooms, which were ideal for our needs, but they did feel a little cramped once all the luggage and beds were in the room. The king room was slightly more spacious, but it still didn’t feel particularly large compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in. One downside was the air conditioning, which was somewhat inconsistent. At times, the room would get warm, and we found ourselves opening the windows to get some fresh air. The room lighting was also a bit dim, especially in the corridors leading to the rooms. It gave the hotel a cozy feel, but it would’ve been nice to have brighter lights in the hallways for a better overall atmosphere. ### Service: 4/5 The staff at the hotel were generally friendly and helpful, providing good service when we needed it. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and they were accommodating with any requests we had during our stay. ### Facilities: 4/5 The hotel offers a range of amenities, including a gym and a small restaurant. We didn’t use these much since we were out exploring Seoul, but it’s good to know they are available. The lobby area is nice and modern, and we appreciated the free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. ### Overall Impression: 4/5 Despite a few minor issues with the room size, lighting, and air conditioning, we were generally happy with our stay at the Mercure Ambassador Seoul Hongdae. The location is definitely the highlight—so convenient for exploring the vibrant Hongdae neighborhood, and the variety of dining options nearby made it easy to find something to enjoy every day. We would recommend this hotel for its great location and decent service, especially for travelers who plan to be out and about most of the day.

The location is super convenient, easy to travel around Seoul from the hotel. Lots of eating places and shopping in the area. Definitely will consider to stay here if I ever visit Seoul again.

Great place to stay. Near to several shopping and food area. The only problem i have is the air con. For what ever reason, the air con is warm at night. Despite the thermostat show 24.5 degree, it cannot be adjusted lower and it does not feel like 24.5 degree at all. It is wamer. Overall, everything else is good. The staffs are friendly.

It was a pleasant stay, very near the train station! We enjoy our stay!

Highly recommended! Located conveniently near Hongdae station Exit 9 and the main shopping area. The only con would be the room is quite small,if you are travelling with big luggages, it might be get squeezy in the room when you open up your luggages

Location of the hotel is excellent. It's so close to exit 9 of Hongdae station, and it's in the centre of Hongdae shopping area. Room is overall clean and the staff is friendly as well.

Enjoyed our stay! Clean, comfortable and quiet. We would stay here again if we want easy access to Hongdae street shopping.

A hotel with modern design, clean and cozy. Great location access city center. Staff are professional and friendly. They let me checked in room early 10am when room available, appreciated! Hotel facilities are fully equipped. Money exchange machine at lobby with good rate, it saved a lot of time searching around. Free water dispenser and great coffee at lobby as well. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone who plan visit Seoul.

We had pleasant stay at Mercury. Great welcome and helpful from check in/out counter service. Very kind from room cleaning staff always ready to assist. Excellent hotel services

I was on disability while staying there. The service was nice especially to dimsum room service “Tian Mi Mi” restaurant. Some how the automatic toilet control and the room door were broken but the engineer came to fix them right away. By the way, the light smell of urea in the toilet kept coming up while using.

The location of the hotel is just right next to the Hongik University station. Take the exit 8 and it takes around 5 minutes walk. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was pretty clean and well maintained. The only thing I would like to change are the selections and the variety of the breakfast - not a lots of choices and same things every day!
