Castello Delle Serre

This place is beautiful and the tower suite is magical -- stay there if at all possible and stay long enough to enjoy it (at least 3 nights -- we stayed 6)! With a rental car you can easily do day trips to Chianti, Sienna, Piensa, San Gimignano, Cortona, Montepulciano, the coast, and even Florence. The owners, Kaci and Antonio, will help you plan meals, outings, cooking classes, wine tastings, whatever you feel like doing each day -- so no need to plan before you arrive, just have a wish list of the kinds of things you want to do (and make sure to ask them where the best gelato spots are in each town)! Bear in mind, this is basically a B&B, no restaurant on site, but a lovely little breakfast every day and once during our stay they offered an amazing fixed-menu dinner -- and during high season (Sept/Oct) they plan to offer a fixed-menu dinner every other night. You won't go hungry, though, don't worry! There are several delicious restaurants within easy walking distance in this sweet Tuscan village, and endless options for the great restaurants just a short drive away. Leave time to relax and see what it's like to live in a castle with a perfect pool and views for miles. Can't recommend the Tower Suite highly enough, it's like having your own apartment that you'll never want to leave, and the AC works great throughout the castle which was helpful at the height of summer. Highly recommend and we hope to go back!

LOVED every single minute - Amazing setting, breakfast was perfect, recommendations from Kaci & Antonio really made our trip extra enjoyable. Couldn’t recommend more. Location is perfect for access to Siena and Montepulciano. Super relaxing and extremely clean.

Salvatore, Antonio, and Kaci were awesome hosts in the picturesque Castello Delle Serre! Salvatore has transformed the Castello into a wonderful venue that is not to be missed. The food and stories that were shared have given us memories that we can never forget. We highly recommend you chimes and stay at this great site!! This is the place to go to and do the organized week-long tour with Salvatore, his son Antionio and daughter-in-law Kaci. Superb organization of the week-long tour and excellent stay at the castle. We stayed in the tower suite with our own private terrace overlooking the area. Magnificent views. We had a few dinners at the castle, excellent food and of course plenty of wine. Breakfast every morning with our group of 20 people. We did not know any of them and now we are all friends (and Facebook Friends). Sharing recipes and photographs. We did some excellent wine tasting, Montioni, De'Ricci, Tenuta di Arceno to name a few. Shipped quite a few case back home again. Received the last batch yesterday. Definitely recommended. I took a little over 2,100 photographs that week alone.

We went with a large group from around the world (not all knew each other) who were each individually treated with so much personal attention and care that made us all feel like family. The Gangale family and staff were top notch! Sal and Antonio were guides extraordinaire with a thorough knowledge of Italian history, geography entertained with USA and world events and storytelling abilities to rivet, engage and impress us continually. The hospitality, food, grounds, rooms and extras were superlative - and the weather was perfect. Enjoyed meeting Kayci and the kids along with Rozina - all part of the family to make this experience a 10+!

If we planned a trip and designed the best place to stay (the room was super, the food outstanding and the wine choices second to none) and chose the perfect hosts, we did it with Castello delle Serre. Our hosts, Kaci and Antonio, could not have been more accommodating and knowledgeable of the area. My wife and I have traveled to many places, but this was the best vacation we have ever done. You can't go wrong.
