Hotel 500 Firenze

Beautiful hotel, nice location. Interesting but small room with direct access to the terrace. Beautiful restaurant. The pool didn’t work. Minuses - AC didn’t work, it was hot in the room and we had to open windows, but turned out there are lots of mosquitoes that bite in the night. No mosquito net on the windows. Upon checking out personnel told us there are repellents at the reception available, but that didn’t help. Usually hotels with this kind of problem had fumigators in the room. Problem with towels - on first day there were all towels no robes, on the second day no big towels but one robe for two.

****DO. NOT. STAY. HERE.**** Should have paid attention to the reviews. Mass of party guests arriving by 7pm. Full blown wedding reception by 8pm. Went out for dinner and came back to a night club party by 10pm. Just like other reviews stated, this place is obviously an event hosting location first, masquerading as a hotel second. I waited until half past midnight before asking what time the noise would be over because we were being kept awake. I was told 'about another half hour'. The party continued on past 1am and was then followed by a cleaning crew that rattled dishes, clashed bottles together and voices echoed long into the night cleaning up after all the party goers. Still lying awake, I heard the AC in my room turn off somewhere around 2am - the last thing keeping me comfortable. Woke up to grounds keepers mowing lawns promptly at 0800 outside my window that was now open because I had no AC. Aside from the night club outside my window at 1am, the rest of the hotel didn't impress either. I took a swim in the pool which was nice until you looked at the pool bottom and sides with alge uncleaned. The pool deck was abysmal. Empty liquor bottles, pop bottles, and water bottles littered about, sun beds in dissaray, wet towels still laying on deck chairs, dirty ash trays and not a soul to be seen. The pool was cool and refreshing and deep. Nice to swim I guess. Wi-Fi was mediocre. The staff was also peculiar. Check in desk answering the phone in between trying to check us in - rude, no friendly greeting or welcome, asked for a bottle opener for our room and reception didn't want to give us one so told us they needed to open our wine for us instead, told to get wine glasses from the bar but bar attendant looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked for 2 wine glasses. It's unfortunate, the hotel grounds are quite beautiful and there is a ton of potential. Rooms are small but I found them clean. Bathroom is small but clean. Continental breakfast was acceptable. The BEST part of this story if you're still reading, is at checkout. When I mentioned my dissatisfaction (no one cared to ask how my stay was before asking for payment) the reception didn't even blink an eye. There was ZERO remorse or empathy or literally any physical sign of care. Not even so much as an apology. I mentioned the issues I had and was told repeatedly there was nothing to be done except told to speak to a manager who wasn't available of course. When I asked the reception if all other guests should just be expected to deal with others partying and not having any regard for the time of the evening, I was told 'Yes'. Please Please don't bother staying here. It's just not worth it. Congratulations to the bride and groom, hope your stay was enjoyable - mine wasn't. Wish I could post the video here I took at 1am of your party from my bedroom window. Astonishingly poor stay, avoid avoid avoid.

Mai avrei immaginato una tale pessima esperienza. Innanzitutto la stanza superior assegnataci non è assolutamente da quattro stelle. La struttura non sarebbe male, ma ci sono numerose pecche. La stanza si trova in un edificio separato, con bagno senza finestra e nessuna areazione. Le uniche due piccole finestre della stanza si trovano in due angoli dei muri, e danno rispettivamente su un tetto di tegole e vegetazione incolta e sotto una tettoia che da verso il parcheggio. Essendo molto vicini all'autostrada si sente un frastuono costante. La cosa peggiore è stata non poter dormire tutta la notte perché assalti dalle zanzare! Un incubo mai visto prima. Siamo stati punti su mani piedi, testa. Avremo ucciso una ventina di insetti, ma questi continuavano ad uscire pensiamo dal tetto o dall'areazione. Alle tre di notte, dopo numerose chiamate alla reception da telefono interno ed esterno ed email disperate, dalla reception ci hanno portato un flacone di autan e il dispositivo elettrico anti zanzara: ma non potevano darcelo prima e, comunque, installarlo nella stanza prima di farci passare questo incubo? Al checkout al mattino, restituendo autan e fornelletto, abbiamo protestato e detto che un hotel serio ci avrebbe almeno fatto uno sconto rispetto ai 150 euro pagati, ma ci è stato risposto che non lo fanno. Come se non bastasse, il receptionist ha consentito che un individuo, non sappiamo se avventore o collegato all'hotel, ci insultassi dicendo che non avevamo dormito perché non ne avevamo voglia, e altre varie amenità indegne di un contesto civile. Anziché zittire il maleducato, il receptionist ci ha detto che il figuro non era tenuto a qualificarsi, e ha continuato ad ingiuriarci. Sono disgustata sia dal servizio sia dal comportamento indegno che ci è stato riservato. Viaggio per lavoro in tutto il mondo, e capisco che possano capitare imprevisti, ma hotel e personale degni di tali qualifiche trovano sempre il modo di comportarsi con gentilezza e venire incontro ai clienti, anche solo con un sorriso o un piccolo sconto. A noi non è stato riservato nessuno di questi trattamenti. Abbiamo anche cenato presso il ristorante dell'hotel, il cui personale era gentile, ma i prezzi a nostro avviso elevati. L'esperienza in questo hotel è stata deludente e da non ripetere mai più. Peccato perché se migliorasse la struttura, adottassero policy più adeguate e attenzione al cliente, il posto avrebbe delle possibilità.
