The Golden Lion at Settle

This is second visit , the room was newly decorated it was lovely bed very comfy food was good and staff always pleasant and helpful

A tiny hiccup to start, the bed was a double not a twin as requested by phone many weeks previously. This was quickly rectified and apologised for by the most amazing lady. Long streaked hair, I regret not getting her name. The Character Double was worth paying for. Great size, with a settee and 2 chairs. Spotlessly clean, quality furnishings and White Stuff toiletries which I now need to buy because they were so good. Comfy beds and a nice quiet room as requested. The evening meal was delicious. I am still dreaming about the sauce that was in my seafood penne. Sourdough bread with sage and orange butter, genius. Served by the busy lady who helped us with the bed problem. Breakfast was lovely and substantial. Throughout all of the stay, I can honestly say that the standout thing was the friendliness of the staff. I work in customer service, so when the whole team display constant standards of care, they should be applauded. We loved our stay and would not hesitate to go back.

We went for a late lunch and had the Settle pudding, my goodness, it was so good, I'm still thinking about it and want to go back soon! Excellent service too. Home made shortbread with the coffee too and a nice big cup of tea! It's really nice inside.
