This is a remarkable hotel in an amazing location. The hotel is situated in the old part of People’s Square, on zhejiang road, in a famous lane house. Walking through the small streets felt like going back in time.
I loved all the smells; food cooking, fresh flowers, dried fish and meat, and even laundry soap. I also heard birds singing and people talking in Shanghainese. It was just like in the TV show Blossoms Shanghai “繁花” by Wong Kar-wai!
This morning, I went to take a test. The neighborhood gave me good energy. After passing the test, I felt very happy! And I’m so thankful for my quiet hotel, I slept really well. The best preparation for my exam! I must say that was a great experience!

The hotel was wonderful and my room was so beautifully arranged and decorated. This was a very special hotel in an old traditional part of the city, very close to Nanjing road and the bund. The owner is simply incredible and his staff are all wonderful. I had such an amazing time in Shanghai and felt incredibly welcomed by the owner to took time to explain the history of the building and area. Thank you for such an incredible time and I look forward to hopefully visiting again the future. Your English was very good :) I hope my Chinese can become as good in the future. All the best, Joe.

I had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at Qianjing Xiaozhu Boutique Hotel from 25-29 March 2025. The host and all the staff are warm and friendly and the sharing of essential information and food list around the vicinity has been helpful. I chose this hotel due to its simple charm & character. It’s nestled in a quaint neighbourhood with many food options and is also within a comfortable walking distance to People’s Square metro station. This boutique hotel is popular with international tourists and I enjoyed the conversations I had with the other guests as well. Mr Chen, Xiao Su & Xiao Lu, 非常感谢你们的招待与帮助!

The owner and staff are really kind and helpful and make you feel very welcome. The property is tastefully designed and my room was clean and comfortable. There are many, many excellent snack shops and restaurants around. You can walk or take the metro or a taxi to anywhere in the city easily.
Highly recommended for the opportunity to witness and appreciate daily life in this Shanghai neighbourhood!

Very nostalgic and Shanghainese decor. Love the homely style. Owner is very friendly and enjoys telling us the history of the building and the olden days of Shanghai. Heard from the owner that the building was recently used in the firming set of a drama. Hope to watch this drama when its out to reminiscent our stay here.
