YeSuXiaoXing Youth Hostel recensioner

The hostel does not match the description on Trip.com, it is a very unhygienic place. I was misleaded by the night score and thought it will be as a regular budget hostel, but it’s worse. There are 3 toilet stalls, even though there are at least 15 rooms on the floor, having 8 people in each. There is no soap, no toilet paper, bathrooms are constantly wet and very unclean. There are many permanent residents in the dorms that have unfortunately occupied all of the storage spaces (even though it has the number of your bed on it), so expect to not be able to leave any valuables secured. The permanent tenants also have their stuff everywhere in the room (also in the bathroom sinks, as they wash their clothes there), they eat smelly food in their beds and as there are no windows in the room, it smells whole night. I am not sure who is controlling the AC, but they turn it on for a very short time, making it difficult to get at least some fresh air.  I do not recommend staying there, property that doesn’t want to install soap dispensers is obviously not caring about the health of its visitors. I even asked the receptionist, as I thought they might have forgotten to give me a little soap, but she said there’s non (same for towels and slippers, even though it’s advertised as available). Lastly, the bed was not made when I arrived, just the sheet thrown on top of the mattress.

The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the train station but it was difficult to find because the name in the app didn't match the name on the place, go to the door next to the police station and go up to the third floor, and the check in was soo slow because apparently the girls couldn't find my country in my passport The common areas are nice and clean but it's probably the only thing clean of the place, in the rooms there are permanent tenants but absolutely no one cares about cleaning, so there are luggages, shoes and clothes everywhere and you can find used napkins and food packaging in every corner, even under my bed I found a bottle, napkins and so much dust that my suitcase was completely dirty There are no toilet paper, soap or shampoo in the bathroom so you should bring your things

Very loud hostel, no one respects the other people in the room. Toilets are disgusting. Not toilet paper provided. But very good located. Not for solo travelers, no chances to meet anyone…

Overall is good but if yoh are non-smoker, don't stay here. They smoke in restroom even in the dom.

I enjoyed my time in this hostel even if there were no others foreigners. It was still in construction but nice place

Good hostel and cheap for solo travelers and staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Very rude managers, was told last minute that you can. Or check in if you’re older than 60 years, as a result, they cancel the booking, and we didn’t get a bed! Will never go back! Manager is super rude woman!

The rooms are super messy because people live there permanently. The location is very good

This is a hostel with multiple double bunker beds in each room. As already pointed out by other guests, there are many long term residents. That means they have a lot of stuff in the room. It is not like youth hostels for travellers. The toilet is clean but very wet. The location is close to the metro station and I find a convenient store downstairs.

Convenient location. The bathroom areas could use a makeover. Storage space is lacking in the dorm rooms

Very dirty hostel, i don't think they ever clean the bed area. I even found a toe nail on my bed when I checked in 🥲 the facility is old and already run down. But the location is good, 10m from a metro exit, 2 stations away from nanjing rd

Great location right by the metro. The entrance was a bit hard to find but it is right to the right of the police station. The hostel overall didn’t seem super clean but fine, my room however had a bit of a smell, maybe because of someone eating something but I’m not sure. The bed cubicle was pretty clean and the light up mirror was a great feature. The mattress was pretty thin and hard but comfortable for me. For any western travelers, be aware that there are no regular toilets as with a lot of hostels in China. All in all it was a cheap and convenient stay for a few nights but it wasn’t a great experience.

Good and cheap. The walk to the Metro station escalator takes about 30 seconds.

Staff are great, they run things well. I see them cleaning several times a day whenever necessary. I am a foreigner and got to meet locals here, lots come from other provinces looking for work in Shianghai.
