My stay at this hotel started with a HORRIBLE experience at check-in. Despite having a COMFIRMED booking through Trip.com, the front desk insisted that I CANCEL my reservation and rebook directly with them, promising a refund. This made no sense! Why should I cancel a prepaid booking, especially when refunds aren’t guaranteed?
There seemed to be a language barrier, but that’s no excuse for their unprofessional behavior. I firmly refused because first, c anceling would risk losing my payment** (since my booking was non-refundable). Second, rebooking would likely cost more their "promise" of a refund seemed unreliable. And lastly, Trip.com bookings should be honored! What's the point of using a booking platform if hotels pressure guests to cancel?
Thankfully, after arguing, they finally accepted my original booking, but the entire situation was unnecessary and stressful. I was lucky it didn’t ruin my stay, but this hotel clearly prioritizes their own profits over guest convenience.
