Beilu Beilu Hotel Shanghai (Qingpu Zhujiajiao Branch)

We will definitely be coming back. Everything was nice and Zhujiajiao old town is just around the corner.

Centrally located. Very quaint establishment. Staff are somewhat friendly. The room is good for a short stay. Linen and towels are clean however they do not offer pool towels, they were confused as to why I needed a separate towel for the pool. There's a cat that roams around the lobby areas and a dog that barks quite a bit during the day. Rooms are quiet and the bathroom shower is adequate. Bottled water supplied daily. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again when in the area.

This hotel is quite far from ancient town, about 850 m but you can easily walk from Jujiajiao train station. The hotel may look a bit rundown but room is very comfortable with great shower. Breakfast is so so, not to my liking. The staff are helpful and use translate app to communicate.

Very good location to the ancient town. Room is reasonably clean but hallway carpet can give an unappealing welcome. Require to use Chinese to activate the heating because it’s voice-control.

Our stay at this hotel was a delightful experience. It's conveniently located for travelers coming from central Shanghai to visit Zhu Jia Jiao, with easy access to the metro. The hotel, though slightly aged, retains its charm. The presence of a swimming pool suggests it would be an excellent summer retreat. The lobby was a highlight for us. We spent enjoyable hours there playing board games and eating. However, guests with cat allergies should be cautious, as a cat freely roams the area, which triggered my allergies. On the downside, the cleanliness in the bathroom could be improved, and the breakfast was quite basic, offering just eggs and salad. Perhaps in the summer, with more guests, they might expand their breakfast menu.

This hotel is about 10 mins walk from the Zhujiajiao Metro Station on line 17 . Its about 40 min trip from the Hongqiao Railway Station (terminal station). Line 17 operates about every 7 minutes during the day and every 10 mins during the night. Therefore this line is not frequent as say as Line 2. I choose this hotel ,because it has an outdoor swimming pool and I wanted to explore a new area of Shanghai. Firstly the outdoor swimming pool was closed when i stayed at this hotel in (September 2023) - there was no water in the pool!. In September, Shanghai experiences temperatures well above 27 to 30C, so it bit premature to close the pool in September. Mid October would be fine. It would be nice if the hotel operator/owner could inform Trip.com, that the pool is closed. The room was very comfortable and nice views of the surrounding area with some historic homes. The Rain Head shower was great. Air-con were easy to use and functioned well. As to be expected in most Chinese hotels (which are not part of western brand) there is very limited English available from hotel staff, but with English translators on cell phones, this is not really an issue. There are several shops in the same street of the hotel, but unfortunately there is no Family Mart, no 711 or Lawson (common brands in China) However, there is small Family Mart at Zhujiajiao metro station. Many local restaurants nearby and KFC - about 10 min walk down the same street of the hotel. In this area, there is some evidence of historic homes and residences, which makes the area unique. Overall, the hotel represents good value for money and appropriate choice to explore the local historic area, but not downtown Shanghai (which is too far from this hotel)
