Liangxi Xiaozhu Homestay (Dukezong Ancient City Branch)

We were initially worried about travelling to shangrila because of the altitude, but we got lucky with the hotel choice! The couple running the place is absolutely amazing!! The owner picked us up from the train station making us feel so welcomed and help us avoid all the hassle of the unlicensed taxis! Once we reach the hotel, they were also very considerate preparing Chinese desserts for us in case to ease up the discomfort due to the altitude (all FOC)! The room were also very modern with smart home system and heater available in the room! Oxygen supplies also available which makes it so convenient ( we really use it in the middle of the night as we lack of the oxygen)! The owner also prepare us with heat pad and lots of snacks as well! Highly recommended this place!

Very comfortable place with great location

Rooms are spacious and clean. Quiet rooms as it is hidden behind alley ways of the main street. Rooms are clean daily. Service is incredible, very friendly and offer complimentary service to the train station and on time. Situated in very good location, walking distance to main attractions and food. One pain point is that the main road is currently under construction, close to cars. If you have big cars, maybe hard to navigate to the hotel main entrance, as alleys are narrow.

I had an incredible stay at this hotel in Shangri-La. The owner is exceptionally helpful, kind-hearted, and considerate. He personally picked us up and dropped us off at the train station, which made our journey so much easier. He even helped carry our luggage up to the third floor and ensured everything was taken care of. The room was very nice, tidy, and spotless. He also upgraded us to a bigger room, which was a wonderful surprise. The location is excellent, with the ancient old town and key attractions within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shangri-La and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the outstanding hospitality! ☺️🙂🇲🇾

location is good, near to the east gate, convenient to travel to other attractions outside of dukezong ancient town (such as pudacuo national park) as taxis/buses do not drive into the ancient town. the heating system is only turned on at night and it isn't very good, can feel a bit cold when the weather is around zero degrees. the room is also equipped with an oxygen machine in case one experiences altitude sickness, and a humidifier as the air there is fairly dry. when we arrived on the first day, snacks in the form of local delicacies were provided which tasted nice. the staff are friendly and helpful too.

The location is good, right next to the gate of the Old town. The owner and the staff were very helpful. They also helped us to book the tour to Balagezong which was a blast. The room was very clean and had no smoking smell.
