Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Winchester, VA recensioner

Nice and clean place to stay overnight. Only issue is that they do not offer a pet free handicapped accessible room (not specified on upon booking), which was needed but due to severe allergies we had to transfer to another room. They did upgrade us however to pet free but accessibility was slightly an issue due to this.

The stay occurred over the Memorial Day weekend. I can't say enough about the lady that fixes the breakfast. It is amazing to see her detail to cleanliness and presentation, plus, she makes breakfast that is out of this world. I hope they never lose her! Saturday's breakfast was real scrabbled eggs, bacon and potatoes. Sunday's was scrabbled eggs, sausage, homemade biscuits and sausage gravy! Amazing! Monday, Memorial Day, was scrabbled eggs, rosemary potatoes (which were delicious), and bacon. I would pay to eat the breakfast she puts out. The coffee was hot, the juice bar was always full, and the waffle irons were ready for anyone who wanted a waffle. Thank you for paying attention to all those details. The hotel was clean and quiet!

Our room was clean and spacious, and the staff was very friendly. The hotel was a little hard to find when coming off of I-81 heading south – GPS was a lifesaver in that respect – you basically have to go underneath I-81 to get there. While there were some road noises at night, they were not too bad, and the thick, light-cancelling curtains helped with both the light and any road noises. Comfortable beds – nicely raised above floor level. And the breakfast bar was outstanding - I had the best and easiest made waffles that I have ever had. There was a good selection of everything – bacon done right, and scrambled eggs were tasty. Attentive staff members kept the breakfast area clean and replenished throughout the breakfast period.

We were staying for 1 night on our way to Myrtle Beach. We had one room and our son and his family had their room. We stayed in the same hotel last year and had only good things to say at the time. This time around, we were not as pleased. Our room was a king bed. It was clean but needs updating. The bathroom seemed rundown, especially the bathtub. Last year we had a sofa and chair in our room and all seemed very new. We were expecting the same, after all, it was the same hotel. One year made a difference and we won’t be staying here again. As for breakfast, what a disappointment. Not much choice and the coffee was tasteless.

Overall impression, very nice. Check in was quick and easy. Spacious clean room, coffee maker, refrigerator, nice bathroom. Small but existing work out facilities and pool. Former is weight machine, elliptical, two treadmills. Breakfast was good, eggs, sausage, waffles, dry foods. Minor complaints were that the heavy curtains on our third floor room were installed to only close halfway. East side, so no sleeping in. Plus, there was an elevated off ramp right in front of our room 40 yards away, so don't do anything in the evening you don't want people paused there to glance over and watch you doing. 😁 Overall, all the important things were very good. Not expensive. Would stay here again.

Very nice hotel on the outskirts of Winchester. There are a lot of restaurants around that are walkable. Room was clean and spacious. Very nice for a quick stop as you continue on your road trip. Decent breakfast in the morning and free chocolate chip cookies all day!

Have stayed at this hotel many times. It is neat and clean. Most of the time, the staff are very accommodating. Chocolate chip cookies are provided free in the evening. Very good location. Once you park your car you can walk to restaurants, movie theatre, Aldi's, ice cream stand, stores. Gas station next door. Free buffet breakfast in the morning.

This is one of our favorite stops. Use GPS to get there, as you may not see from highway and it's a quirky left right turn thing depending on where you're coming from. Suites are nice and roomy for 2. And a sleeper if 1 or 2 kids are with you. Clean, comfy, nice bathrooms and pretty good furnishings. We stop here often and never have any issues. Pool is a bit cool but nice. Lots of seating and tables inside and outside. Staff has always been very pleasant. Lots of choices for eateries, close movie theater and gas all within walking distance. Maybe a bit high in price but AAA or coupons may help.

This was the highest rated hotel in the area on Trip Advisor, and I'm baffled. This was quite dumpy. The front desk clerk was never available without the need to ring a bell, the carpet in the room was stained, the bedding was cheap, the walls were thin (a lead-footed guest traipsed overhead all night long), the room had the smallest TV I’ve seen in a hotel room in 15 years, the door frames were beaten up, there was rust in the bathrooms, there was mold flowing down the front of the building, and the only parking for RVs and cars with trailers is across the street. This place was built many years ago and looks as though it hasn't been renovated since. This is a one-and-done for us. Really bad experience.

It takes about a minute to be nice but unfortunately the front desk clerk could not spare a minute during check-in later in the evening. People in the hospitality business sector need to show friendliness and an eagerness to help. Neither demonstrated tonight. 2/17/24

Staff was friendly. The hotel is dated. Room was clean but in need of a renovation. Tiles and tub were chipped. Rug was stained. I agree on highway noise in odd numbered rooms. The bed was very soft. (Not my taste but others may like it) the price was right. If they fixed all my concerns I’m certain the price would be higher. Curious at how this is the number one hotel in the area. We’ve stayed elsewhere and preferred it. However, if price is an issue, this is a fine place to stay.

Good value, good room, good breakfast, excellent service. The room was spacious and clean. Located just off the highway. Unfortunately, there is a lot of truck noise from the highway, especially in the odd-numbered rooms.

We stayed one night while traveling to Norfolk, Virgina. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was pretty much the standard breakfast fare but was good. It was very convenient to the highway.
