DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield Park recensioner

Good: The room was clean. For location, it was the best option for my own specific purpose. But it was not near the city centre. The staff was friendly. And the breakfast was good. Shower was comfortable too. There was a complimentary cookie which tasted good. Bad: the furniture in the room looked old and broken. I was there for only one night so it was not a problem for me.

We stayed here 10 years ago and on this visit, found it to be a great location again, from which to visit our friends in Sheffield and for walks in the Peak District. The free car park was most helpful. Furniture and carpet are slightly worn, but room was clean, warm and spacious enough for our needs.

Good location

Had to pay additional £5 per person to use the pool area. Had to pay £1 room deposit. This wasn’t mentioned at the time of booking.

Brilliant

The room is freezing cold as the AC is not working in our room. Manager brought a portable heater but it also takes ages to heat up. I asked for additional duvet and no action was taken at all. Very disappointed.

We were issued keys that failed to open the door forcing us to make our way back to the front office. Our room, by the way was last on a long corridor on the upper floor of an extended wing if you can picture that. We booked (and paid for) a room for three but upon entering, the extra bed was not made up. Tried to call every number on the house phone but none was answered which meant another long walk to the front office, again. When we found the drain in the shower clogged I was hesitant to complaint to avoid further disappointment but I did anyhow and true enough - nothing was done. I must admit the hotel had one of the widest selection of tea and coffee (and chocolate drink mix) I've seen in a hotel room. I appreciated the coffee but unfortunately, restocking was only done once throughout our 4 night stay. I wonder if this was to be expected. Double Tree is a respectable brand (at least in my part of the world) but I don't understand what could have gone so wrong with this one.

Hotel location excellent with free parking. Didn't use the restaurant so unable to comment. Room was clean as was bath room area. However flies in room and in bar area couldn't relax and enjoy the trip. Hotel seemed a little run down. Staff were polite and very courteous.
