Jiangnan House Nantou Review – Industrial Chic but Room for Improvement
The Highlights:
Free Upgrade to Spacious Suite: Our party of two received a generous upgrade to a loft-style suite designed for larger groups, featuring: smart room controls (climate, lighting, etc.); dual bathrooms – a luxury for couples; thoughtful industrial-chic design blending modern and heritage elements
Vibrant Location: Situated in Nantou’s hippest district trendy bars, coffee shops, and boutiques, lively weekend crowds (great for atmosphere, but may not suit those seeking quiet)
Helpful Departure Assistance: Staff efficiently arranged our luggage to be delivered to a cab, making checkout smooth.
The Drawbacks
Breakfast Letdown: No proper à la carte or buffet – just pre-packaged meals (uninspiring for a hotel of this caliber); the ground-floor café didn’t compensate for the lack of real breakfast options.
Arrival Hassles: No direct road access – we had to walk several hundred meters with luggage (poor first impression)
Missed Bath Experience: Didn’t try it, but unclear if it would have made up for other shortcomings.
Final Verdict
A stylish, well-designed hotel in a fantastic location, but let down by poor breakfast. Ideal for design lovers who prioritize aesthetics.
