Holiday Inn Express & Suites Shippensburg

Very hollow walls and floors. I do not recommend for family vacationing with small children, unless you have kids that are stationary like furnitures. You literally hear all footsteps and movements coming even from the top floors.

Good hotel. Great Staff. Satisfactory location. Breakfast was as expected and typical for Holiday Inn Express. Close to businesses, including WalMart and food establishments. Overall, pleased. Will consider if in the area again.

Comfortable, interesting décor; pleasant staff. Problem with check-in. For some reason, we were marked as a no-show even though we arrived mid-afternoon and were guaranteed on a credit card; and our reservation was cancelled. No problem with getting a room, but we discovered later that we had been charged the regular rate instead of the rewards member rate because they did not ask us if we were members. Still trying to get credit for the difference in rate a month and a half later.

We are now sold on holiday inn express rooms. I just signed up for their rewards program and will stay at a holiday inn as much as I can. It was clean with a great hot breakfast. Jessica at the front desk was so patient and customer friendly even in the midst of those who were being difficult. Two thumbs up.

Just below average. Check in was terrible. Checked in & went to room, opened door and it was the wrong room type & the smell was awful. Smelled like a kennel. Went back to front desk. Advised we had paid for a different room type, not the one we were given keys for. Lady at desk said they were full...nothing she could do. If we could stay in that room for 1 night we could move to another room for the next few nights. I explained we had paid for a particular room and would not accept a cheaper room that smelled. I started looking for other hotels, then she suddenly found a solution. The room we paid for was available. Day 2, no power in the AM. Not hotel's fault, but they were grossly inept in handling the situation. Employees had no idea what they should be doing. Came back to hotel in the afternoon and hotel reeked of pet smells. The airlock coming into the hotel was particularly pungent. It was pretty warm during our stay & the exterior of the hotel constantly smelled like pee. I guess they allow pets to pee all around the hotel so on warm days that's all you smell walking in and out of the hotel. Its a shame because the actual room was large & had a good layout. The room needed some maintenance & upkeep, but it wasn't terrible. Caulking in shower was gross, and the hook on the door fell off & hit me, but it wasn't an awful room. Breakfast was good. A mix of breads, a couple of hot food items (eggs, sausage), cereal, and fruit. Location was nice. Theres a Dunkin in the parking lot. Gas stations, Walmart, & a couple of restaurants nearby. Overall, if you have a pet & are used to the smells this hotel might be fine. I found the odors in certain areas to be overwhelming for me. I personally would not stay here again.

If you are traveling to Shippensburg, this is the only place to stay… the faculty is clean, the staff are so friendly and the management has high standards. I experienced no issues during my three week stay and the staff made me feel as though I was at my home. Stay here!

This was not a planned stop, however we got caught in a crazy snowstorm and were unable to make it to our planned destination. Booked the closest place I could find and what a gem! The manager allowed us to book in over 2 hours early because of the bad weather and completely set us at ease with his humor and good nature - I think he could tell we were all very stressed out from the drive!. We had a double Queen room and it was quite large and super clean and lovely. This appears to be a brand new hotel and was probably one of the nicest Holiday Inns I have ever been in. Bountiful continental breakfast and really good coffee were also a highlight. Fantastic stay!

My first winter stay of 2022! My job gives me a room here when there is bad weather so I don't have to drive in the snow and ice. Last year with winter storms I became like staff. Thanks for everything! Keep up the good work!
