Hotel Mimosa

The location of the Mimosa is brilliant, turn left and you end up in the Canal d’amour, turn right and you are in the heart of Sidari with all the night life you need, it was reassuring to see the security gate (key card access) to get in, obviously we didn’t have one so rang bell to say we were here and buzzed in. First impressions were great, looked like a nice pool area overlooked by the restaurant and pool bar, we asked for a quiet room with double bed as we had heard the Karaoke bar across the road can be quite loud, paid 20€ for a safe (including 5€ deposit), receptionist called Anne who was English but has lived in Corfu for a number of years was very pleasant and welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Unfortunately impressions of the room did not live up to expectations, although we got a quiet room with a double bed that was its only redeeming factor, the room was small, the furniture was tired looking with signs of damage to the drawers on the dresser and the wardrobe, and the numerous evidence of mosquitoes splattered on the walls, the one positive was the free air conditioning which was very good, there was a small fridge but it stopped working a few times, evidence was the flashing light inside, had to unplug it for a couple of minutes to reset it. As others have said, take a couple of mugs as paper cups only available. The bathroom did not live up to expectations either, although it looked like it had been refreshed lately it was also small, the shower cubicle was tight and we are not big people, it also leaked because the drain could not cope with the flow of water, I dreaded going in as the week went on, however the shower was good with plentiful hot water, just a shame most of it ended up on the floor. We had breakfast a few days and there was no complaints, good English bacon was on offer, only white bread for the toaster though, brown bread available but had to cut it and wouldn’t go through, but the brown bread was really good. Didn’t use the restaurant for lunch or evening meals but it looked very reasonably priced and was busy. The pool area was clean and the pool was spotless, they even treated you like adults by serving you your drink in glasses round the pool area instead of that plastic crap. There was always plenty of beds available either at this pool or the other pool at the rear of the hotel, however we preferred the beach, it was 2 minutes from the front of the hotel, we went to the Greek Village restaurant which offer free sun beds with thick cushions if you purchase their food and drink, but I don’t think it’s policy is strict, there were people there who didn’t buy anything. Overall we had a fantastic time in Sidari, I probably will not go back to the Mimosa unless the rooms were better.

Great location as based on the strip, plenty bars & restaurants nearby, staff very friendly & helpful. We were bed & breakfast & it was well worth it great selection of food. Rooms were clean & basic all you need really as its only for sleeping & to shower nothing to complain about with this hotel would definitely recommend

Hotel:- friendly, clean, excellent location. Good facilities Pool:- two adult pools and two kids pools. Lots of sun beds. (no need to get up at stupid o’clock to claim a sunbed!) Food:- excellent quality. English bacon at breakfast.(my husband was over the moon) good selection of poolside snacks and meals. Very reasonable price too. Evening:- bar open in evening. Loverly atmosphere Location:- opposite karaoke bar. We stayed opposite over looking. No issues with noise. I’m a heavy sleeper. Hubby not soo, he said it was ok and stopped music at reasonable time. Maybe worth bringing ear plugs just in case. Lots of restaurants. All excellent quality. Opposite a beach. Amazing! Right on the strip.. oh and next door you have the taxi rank. Brilliant for people with mobility issues. They do cater for people with mobility issues. Rooms:- clean and spacious. No issues! Loved it so much.. we will return!
