Sifnaika Konakia ~ Armada Residence

The staff was excellent, breakfast was very good. The rooms are very clean but older with charm. Please note several steps to most rooms and breakfast. You need to walk about 200 meters from the ferry to where the hotel will pick you up, too far to walk with luggage. Without luggage the walk from the hotel to town is only about 5 minutes. Definitely would stay again.

Perfect vacation! We loved this hotel - beautiful (huge!) breakfast, wonderful outdoor space to enjoy the sea views and perfect location for exploring the island! Owner and team are very friendly and welcoming. Would stay again and recommend to anyone travelling!

We enjoyed our time here. The homemade breakfast and quick morning chats made this place feel like a second home. The owner gave great hiking tips and looked out for us when she asked if we booked rentals yet (we didn’t at the time ) and she said better hurry cause it’s usually gone! She was right! We still managed around bus but that was good tip by the owner. The terrace is very relaxing to eat every morning. It is also equipped with outdoor drying rack. You might encounter the cats on your terrace :) Location is 8-10 minutes from the port. Far enough to be away from the noise but close enough to visit quickly. There is a convenient store nearby if you wish to stick up. The water is also drinkable as advised by the owner: we were fine!

Where to start? As I sit in the ferry leaving beautiful Sifnos, I want to make sure I write a fulsome review. The owner Maria- I felt like I was visiting my aunt/sister/ long lost friend. Depending on your age, you may think she’s your mom or daughter. Nicest, warmest, loving person. Nice sons. Truly lovely family. Location- perfect and peaceful but convenient. 5 minute walk from town and beach. But in an idyllic setting amongst fields and farms. It is so quiet. Yet you hear far off roosters in the morning, owls at night, cicadas, donkeys, sheep and goat bells. Views of mountains, sea and farms all around. The rooms and structure- unique and lovingly created. Hand-picked antiques and interesting art. *This is (luckily) not a modern upscale cookie-cutter hotel. As you walk the grounds, you’ll find lounge chairs from which to watch the sunset, a hammock, swingsets, jacuzzi. You’l see gnomes, guitars, books all around. Umbrellas for beach. Water fountains. Lots of kittens and cats (well taken care of). Views- many of the higher elevation rooms have sea views. We had a garden level without sea views. BUT although normally a deal breaker, our room was perfect. As we sat on our comfortable terrace drinking our coffee and looking at the mountains and farms all around, we felt the hypnotic calm of being in a far off farm. The other benefit of the garden level rooms is you can walk off your patio into the gardens and to or from breakfast and reception seamlessly. All rooms have balconies or terraces. Breakfast is amazing and homemade. We would never stay anywhere but here.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at Sifnaika Konakia as part of a multi island trip. Situated just outside the town of Kamares, Sifnaika is just a few minutes walk from the beach and restaurants. The room was decorated in traditional Greek style and came with a balcony overlooking the surrounding countryside and sea. Our host, Maria was excellent and a mine of information about the island. We didn’t want to leave, and will certainly return in the not too distant future.
