Hotel Waldhaus Sils

Beautiful. From the rooms to the service to the overall hospitality. Enjoyed our stay immensely. The lunch and dinner menu had many wonderful items but my favorite was the tea in the afternoon. It was one of the most relaxing, wonderful stays away from home in a long time. Will definitely be back for more.

Everything at the Waldhaus was absolute perfection. We stayed here for four nights for our honeymoon and were so overwhelmed with the beauty of the property and the surrounding landscape, the friendliness and care of the staff, and the old world charm of this historic hotel. From the moment we arrived at the Waldhaus, we were greeted warmly by the staff and owners of the property. Our room was so well appointed and had the most amazing view of Lake Sils. The turn down service every evening made returning to our room after dinner like returning home. The food is delicious (you have to do the half board option!!) and the nightly menus kept things interesting and fresh. The spa was beyond anything we had ever enjoyed before, with a steam room, sauna, soaking pools, and relaxation rooms. We went on a hike through the Fex Valley and were in awe of everything we saw. It was like being transported back in time with all the modern conveniences and amenities included. Though I'm happy to be home, I will always miss the Waldhaus.

This hotel follows the days of elegance and although very modern in the way it functions it is like stepping back to a time that the guest was the most important consideration. Family run since 1908 it retains the splendour and the family influence can be seen in every aspect of the functioning of the hotel. The public areas have an air of sophistication lost in many modern hotels and the Restaurant served delicious food both for dinner as well as breakfast. During our stay a Buffet Dinner was arranged and the variety on display was beyond belief. A real credit to all of the catering staff as well as the dining room team. Most of the family responsible for running the hotel introduced themselves without being over familiar which made one think it was their pleasure to serve you and you certainly did not feel just another number. The rooms take you to another era, very classical but also very efficient as well as upholding the expected Swiss cleanliness within. It was only a brief visit but one we shall remember for a long time and if you prefer a wonderful location with lots of added extras, this is the place for you. Very highly recommended. I was there in April 2021 and plan on going again in April 2022. The hotel has a unique atmosphere, somehow very suitable for writers and philosophers. Here you can really find peace and relax. The food is good and overall you get great value at this hotel for what you pay. The Spa is modern and very pleasant. I much appreciated the personal welcome and goodbye from the owner (Mr. Dietrich). Gym is existing, but a bit small. The only critique here is that the staff in the hall (lobby) could be more attentive. Especially some of the young men employed as waiters. Sometimes they seem not to be keen on serving another young man who is guest at the hotel…. Apart from that, full recommendation for this hotel!

Had Eloise visitied the Waldhaus Sils, she never would have returned to the Plaza in New York City. We stayed here four nights with our children and we are still swooning from the romance of it all. You want everyone you know and love to experience the way a hotel can be run and I wanted to hug every owner and staff member upon leaving. The place is lovingly run with such excellence and hospitality. It feels a bit like you've traveled back in time to an era where hotels were more authentic, when things came directly from the heart and with great style. The live orchester, after-dinner drinks and family games we played, the sleigh ride into the Fex valley, the conversations with other lovely guests we met, the spa, the incredibly lovely service at dinner from Roberto and that breath-taking view of Sils and the mountains from our room will be family memories forever. I hope we are lucky enough to be able to return. The Waldhaus is a truly special place.

This hotel combines traditional, old-fashioned hospitality with perfection in the areas of cleanliness, quality of food, well-funcioning facilities (wifi, bathrooms, pool, sauna, 'wellness), friendliness of staff. Everyone speaks English and is more than 'just helpful'.
