voco Orchard Singapore, an IHG Hotel recensioner

Booked rooms for my family the night before my wedding. The room was big and clean and the service was impeccable. I had 2 rooms under the wedding package and booked an additional room myself. Shoky, the reception staff, helped to arrange all rooms on the same floor. I didn’t book breakfast for the additional room as I thought I wouldn’t have time for breakfast due to my makeup. But they offered 2 free breakfasts and arranged for a takeaway breakfast for me instead. So thankful for the little ways for me to enjoy my wedding.

Booked a spontaneous stay over the weekend as I needed a little bit of unwind. A bit of a mixed feelings with the receptionist who checked me in, initial unwelcoming vibes but she warmed up at the end. Room was big, spacious, and clean, bed was huge. Amenities provided were sufficient. A little too quiet at night (which is a good thing) that I had to play pink sound for me to sleep. Otherwise, location is perfect and near all the malls, walkable distance. D9 bakery bakes looks delicious I had it purchase one for myself. Will definitely return in the future.

A little hiccup upon checking in. But solved diligently by Narin and the Lady manager. Thank you for being accomodating and understanding!! Upon knowing I have my 3 yg children with 1 ASD. Got a gift for all 3 kids, and we had a good time at the bathtub. DEFINITELY, A MEMORABLE WEEK FOR US FOR HOTEL HOTEL ARD ORCHARD ROAD.

First time trying this hotel, the check in was smooth and the staff was very helpful. The carpark was full that day and there wasn’t any place for us to park, I approached the staff to check if them if there is other solutions or not. She( not sure if I rem the name correctly - MIA) was very friendly, she helped me to check with her colleague and managed to get me a complimentary coupon from forum shopping mall. Thanks for taking the extra mile. The room itself was okay. There is afternoon tea from 2 to 4pm and evening cocktail from 530 to 730pm. There was a food menu so we wasn’t given option to choose what we want. The quality of the food was good however I felt the selections were limited and everyone is okay with certain food. Hopefully they will come out with more options for people to choose instead. Breakfast was okay too. Oh yah they actually decorated the room as it was meant to be a birthday celebration for my partner. Appreciate :)

Perfectly situated amidst countless shopping and dining options in the busiest commercial area of Singapore. Though this is clearly a much older property, it appears to be well maintained and clean. Slept well during my stay and appreciated the rooftop pool and comprehensively equipped gymnasium. For the price paid, this was good value, especially considering how expensive hotels are in Singapore.

On 11 January 2025, we celebrated my mother’s 93rd birthday at the Voco Hotel. Our experience was pleasant and memorable, and I shared it with my mother and sister. The hotel has a warm and cozy atmosphere and is conveniently located near the shopping center on Orchard Road, making it easy for us to explore on foot. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I would like to acknowledge Mr. Ismail, who assisted us during check-in specifically. His service was exceptionally excellent, and we were genuinely impressed. We loved the perfect location and the warm welcome we received. We plan to return for another staycation in June 2025.

Interior design of the room was a bit dated, especially the bathroom. Service was fine and room was generally clean

Hotel service was excellent. Newly renovated. Downside is too crowded due to in house function.

This hotel is really ideal for solo traveller like myself. Love its location and proximity to everything. Their staff were most helpful to ask me if help was required. The room is spacious. Bed was comfy. Will go back soon.

The hotel is located almost on the end of Orchard rd. So its not far yet not exactly at the heart of Orchard rd either. The hotel is very average in every sense. so if your budget allows it and you want somewhere between orchard and tanglin, you may consider this hotel.

The hotel amazing and have everything near it will come again for it

This is definitely NOT a 5 star hotel standard. The hotel is very outdated and in a state of disrepair. When booking a hotel room one rightfully expects clean and quiet accommodations with functional facilities and services. My experience at the hotel had non of the above and it failed to meet any of these basic expectations. Facilities: The room i was assigned had no hot water available for showering. this is the most fundamental requirement for any decent hotel room needless to say a 5 star hotel room and it failed. Additionally, the shower head holder was loose, causing the shower head to frequently fall off. In fact, while I was checking the shower faucet for hot water, the shower head fell and struck my head, resulting in bruises. Furthermore, throughout my 3 night stay, i was repeatedly disturbed by loud door slams, guest running down the hallway multiply, and neighbouring guests speaking loudly. This significantly impacted my quality of sleep and to rest peacefully. Cleaniness: The cleanliness of the vents in all rooms, including my friend's room, my original room and the replacement room I was given after reporting the shower issue, was deplorable (photo attached). None of the vents were clean. Furthermore, vents are dirty for all rooms (photo attached), I know this because I checked out my friend's room, my original room and the newly assigned room after notifying them about the shower issue. Non of them are clean. I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, and all of those nights i was waken many times by door slams, hotel guest running down the hallway repeatedly or talking loudly with neighbour guests. Service: Despite bringing my issue of the bathroom to the attention of multiple hotel staffs, there was no apology for the inconvenience caused by the lack of hot water, as if it is common that rooms had no such function. I was merely reassigned to the same type of room without further actions or upgrades or complimentary gestures that most other hotels would. Even when i presented the staff with photos of the dirty vents, they failed to address the issue and persisted in my transferred room. When i complaint about the noise disturbance, the staff responded merely with "Oh ok, ic". It is not until I reiterated my experience during checkout that I was given the proper attention but it is too late. This overall experience unquestionably ranks as the worst I have ever encountered in a hotel.

As a five star hotel, slow and unstable shower is definitely unacceptable! The tap water even stops supplying water for several minutes during peak hours (1st night no water around 23:30pm and 2nd night no cold water around 22:30) and I think hotel management should look into it very seriously, even a travel lodge could provide you a warm and happy shower!
