Swissotel The Stamford Singapore recensioner

The hotel is just above Raffles City shopping mall which is convenient for shopping and dining. Their guest services are excellent. The only disappointed thing is the view of our room is not really facing the Marina Bay and cannot enjoy the light show.

Stay 7 days in this hotel. Location is excellent, just above in City Hall MRT which is junction of green line and red line. Convenient to travel all attractions with MRT. Service is good. City View is great. Housekeeping is good. Check in is very smooth. No need to wait. Hotel is inside the Raffles City shopping mall and many eateries have.

Overall nice stay at Swissotel Singapore: 1. Location is a big plus. Easy to get around in the city. Connected to MTR, shopping mall, food court, eateries, bakery, supermarket, M&S etc. Everything you need is within walking distance, all covered and with air-con. 2. Room is clean and very spacious. Not new but overall well maintained. Nice Marina Bay View. Only problems are with the bathroom as others have repeatedly commented: a) bathtub cum shower is not user friendly. No shower curtain so the bathroom floor will be half wet each time after use; b) the toilet bowl/set is unreasonably high. Unless one is 1.8m tall with long legs otherwise wont feel good sitting on it. 3.Good service: hotel porters are helpful and proactive. A pleasant surprise to have hotel staff knock on our door each afternoon to see there is anything extra that may be needed. 4. Hotel breakfast is too expensive. You can save a lot with loads of options in the mall and food court and restaurants nearby. 5. Fitness centre, swimming pool etc are adequate. Pool is shared with Fairmont Hotel next door.

We had a lovely trip to Singapore and staying at The Stamford played a big role: the room was clean, beds were big, amenities were good, perfect location to explore the city (super convenient to take the subway) and as the building was shared with a mall shops and eateries were at hand. Our housekeeper HengRui was nice and friendly. Our kids loved the cute towel-pets and asked to take them home. If we ever return to Singapore The Stamford is for sure on top of our list!

While there were some great moments, our overall experience was disappointing due to several service and amenity issues. The Good: ✅ Stunning Room View (After Upgrade): Once I upgraded to the Prestige Premium Centre View (for an extra arm 😢), the view of Marina Bay Sands, the CBD, and Marina Bay was breathtaking. ✅ Excellent Housekeeping: The room was spotless and well-maintained throughout my stay. The Not-So-Good: ❌ Slow Check-In & Check-Out: Long, 30-minute queues for both check-in and check-out made the process frustrating. Even the express counter had delays. ❌ Misleading Room Descriptions: The Swiss Premium Marina Bay Suite did not include a view of MBS, as the name implied. I had to pay extra to get the view I originally expected. This felt like a bait-and-switch tactic. ❌ No Bidet Spray in the Bathroom: A surprising omission for a hotel of this level, especially in Asia. When I asked about it, the staff’s response was simply to “use a mug,” which came across as dismissive. ❌ Cold & Poorly Managed Breakfast: The Indian and Asian dishes were served cold, affecting the overall dining experience. ❌ Delayed Deposit Refund: My deposit refund was delayed for two days, and I had to follow up multiple times to get it processed. Final Thoughts: For the premium price and Swissôtel’s brand reputation, I expected better service, transparency, and amenities. While the room (after the upgrade) was a highlight, the service inconsistencies, misleading booking details, and long wait times made this one of my more frustrating hotel stays. ⭐ Rating: 2.5/5 – Could be much better with improved service, clearer room descriptions, and basic amenities like a bidet spray. Would I return? Only if these issues are addressed.

Best spot!! It’s easy to go anywhere by train. Good service and quick response Staff are kind and very helpful.

Amazing Bay Views! I had a fantastic stay! The view of the bay was absolutely stunning, day and night. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the location was perfect. Highly recommend!

Kinda disappointed, 5 star hotel without welcome drink, nobody to carry your luggage to your room and I first didn’t get the room I booked, had to get angry on the phone for 30 minutes to finally get it. The room was good and breakfast too

The location is very good, close to the subway station, next to the shopping mall, and most importantly, it has a million-dollar night view.

Nice view from 65F and breakfast so good, kids like the swimming pool, and here with 6 tennis courts, and 7x24 hrs gym room, will choose here again.

Excellent service. Great room. Good cleanliness. Out of this world location. Wonderful view of MBS from our room.
