Alexander Mountain Resort

Lovely spot in the mountains Great feel to the whole place and great staff . It has its own museum which is always a bonus. I only stayed one night passing through but will definitely pass by again . Great location for exploring the central mountains of the island . Nice little village 2 mins walk

If you want a quiet mountain retreat, this is the place. Don't expect tourists, or tourist focused activities. It's a tiny town in the mountains. Perfect if you want peace, mountains, trails, and to meet real local people who aren't putting on a show for tourists.

My husband and I have today returned from a 2 night break to this hotel. What a surprise! This is a wonderful hotel. Smart and modern on the outside but the inside is an absolute gem. It is like stepping into an elegant high end hotel with amazing furnishings and so many antiques. Everywhere you looked was full of old domestic, agricultural and musical and naval memorabilia. The collection must have been a labour of love. The staff are friendly and helpful. Everything is spotlessly clean and the room was lovely. We travelled with our small dog and the hotel was very pet friendly. The pool looked lovely but we were not tempted due to the weather. The buffet breakfast was one of the best I've ever seen. Will certainly be back. .
