La Piscine Art Hotel, Philian Hotels and Resorts

First impressions count and when we checked in the staff were friendly and helpful but our room wasn't ready as we arrived before the stated check in time. However we were given a welcome drink by the pool and our room was ready in half an hour and our luggage was waiting for us in the room. Brilliant customer service. We stayed in room 118 which is on the first floor. A lift is available. The room had a lovely view of the garden, a king size bed and a bathroom with good sized shower. The room had great air-conditioning which was definitely needed, a decent sized wardrobe with plenty of coat hangers and a safe. There was a good selection at breakfast. I really enjoyed the fresh fruit and yogurt, they also had peanut butter which is a holiday treat. They also had hot food and cakes/pastries. The pool was great for swimming and was never over crowded. We never had a problem getting a sunbed but the hotel has put up notices that belongings will be moved to reception after an hour if the sunbed is unoccupied which seems to have helped. The staff are all helpful and friendly. It is a short 10 min walk to the town and slightly longer to the port where there are a range of restaurants, bars and shops. We would happily return.

While this hotel may not have a gym or spa, it offers a convenient location near the town for easy exploration. Guests are encouraged to embrace their inner strength by handling their luggage independently upon arrival. The pool area provides a rustic charm with its worn tiles, adding age character to the overall ambiance. Breakfast may lack variety, but it's a great opportunity to appreciate the simple pleasures in life. And who needs a limited lunch menu when there are endless dining options waiting to be discovered outside the hotel? While the hotel may not have reached a 5-star rating, the pool staff shines bright like a diamond with their standout service. The dated appearance of the hotel adds a touch of nostalgia, reminding guests of simpler times. In-room amenities like slow hairdryers and the absence of tissues only add to the authentic experience. A comprehensive revamp may be necessary to meet the standards of a top-tier establishment, but in the meantime, guests can enjoy the quirky charm and make unforgettable memories.

Fabulous small adults-only hotel on outskirts of town. Just a 10-15 minute walk away from the port with all its cafes, tavernas and chic clothes & ceramics shops. We had a warm welcome on arrival from Maria in reception and from then on excellent service from all staff who were so friendly & helpful. Nice clean room with comfortable bed and fabulous essential air conditioning (there was a heatwave during our week). Lovely daily maid service. Breakfast was great. Plenty choice. We had lunch and evening meals a few times at the hotel’s restaurant, The Crazy Cow which was of a high standard as was the wine and we particularly appreciated their support with providing meals suitable for someone with an allergy to onions. There are also lots of places to eat & drink outside the restaurant within short walk. Just mind your back for the cars & motorbikes which can a bit crazy. The pool is well maintained but unfortunately there are the usual people who ‘reserve’ the sunbeds from crack of dawn even if not using. Otherwise, everything was great and we were pleased to meet Sylvester, the hotel’s resident black & white cat who looked well looked after. We would love to come back here.

Lovely staff, hotel rooms and pool area but the food here is just not good especially for the price you pay Breakfast actually terrible for 5 star hotel No fresh fruit juice No fresh coffee No warm boiled eggs No poached eggs no omelette station No herbal tea selection no porridge / oats No fresh croissant / pastries Sliced fruit tastes fizzy like the fruit is fermenting and been there for days Hot options Sloppy powdered scrambled eggs Tinned mushrooms Fried eggs Hot dog sausages There is a selection of cakes and fresh bread yogurt, tinned fruit and cereal but overall not what you would expect from a 5* hotel for sure a lazy chef uneducated in nutrition not everyone wants a fried egg beans and a hotdog sausage. Could be wonderful with fresh produce and local dishes but unfortunately not

Lovely hotel the staff are amazing especially Maria & Christos on reception very helpful couldn’t do enough for us .The Breakfast staff are very nice helpful,Bar staff Alex’s and his team were great full of fun. Even the cleaners were nice ,Room was lovely overlooking the pool 207 sun lounges were very comfortable but to close together it would be better if the umbrellas were behind the beds clean pool towels put out for you ever day ,the rush for a sunbed was a mad at times had to be up early.The hot breakfast was always cold . The wardrobe not the best as no wear for ladies to hang long dresses.Where the hotel is situated isn’t the best very uneven cobbles and pit hole if you have walking difficulties not good .I wouldn’t say it’s 5 star We will return to Skiathos but not this hotel wish it was right in town .

Superb Place to stay , Lovely Welcome drink on arrival and cases taken to the room, the staff here are wonderful and a credit to the hotel , especially Alex Andreas and Georgious on the bar area , Room was adequate for our short stay Crazy Cow meal was lovely , Short stroll 10 mins max onto main ***** in Skiathos town , we will return , Glen and Clare Oldham

The hotel is clean, modern, well decorated, the beds are huge and extremely comfortable. The shower is powerful and large, plenty of hanging space in the wardrobes and drawers. Plenty of sockets and a big mirror in the bedroom to do your hair. The communal areas look modern and very pretty. The swimming pool is good - very shallow one end, and deep the other. Sunbeds are not crammed in. There's a table between them and plenty of room to put your shoes, bags etc. The breakfast room is lovely and never that busy as lots of people sit outside and breakfast is served over a 3 hour period. The waiters are very friendly and efficient, as are all staff in this hotel. Good choice of hot and cold food. Orange juice very watered down. The reception staff are friendly and helpful and there are loads of books there if you forget to bring your own. The terrace is very pretty and well furnished. It really is only a 5 minute walk into the harbour and shopping area. The biggest downside of this hotel is the balconies. Many people just had a table and chairs outside their front doors on a communal walkway. We had a private balcony with mountain view. The view was ok but the balconies really need screens putting up between them. If you sit out, you literally sit only inches away from your next door neighbour on their balcony. I couldn't sit out as every time I went to do so, the man next door was sitting out smoking. There's no privacy and smoke wafting over was not pleasant. Screens would be such a simple fix and this really needs addressing. I also think the rooms that don't have a balcony should be greatly reduced in price and the description more widely available to customers so they know what they're getting. The other downside was the food and drink prices. It is so expensive in the hotel, we didn't eat or drink anything there. My friends had two Martini Biancos and it cost nearly 18 euros! Having said that, Skiathos is an expensive island. Eating out and drink prices are on a par with the UK. I would definitely return to this hotel if they sort out the lack of privacy on the balconies, as Skiathos is the prettiest Greek island I've been to, and I've been to many Greek islands.

We had the pleasure of enjoying a wonderful, two weeks at La Piscine Art Hotel recently. We found the hotel to be full of character, very clean plus superb bed linen and towels! The hotel was in an ideal location . . . . only 10 minutes walk to the main street in Skiathos Town. And also very close to pick up the main bus route to access some of the many fabulous beaches in Skiathos. All of the staff . . . reception, bar, restaurants and cleaning, were excellent at what they did. They were warm and caring, friendly, professional and very accommodating. In our opinion, the breakfast selection was excellent and the addition of the omelette bar was gratefully received by myself! Thank you all for making our two weeks holiday complete! And I we want you to know that our cat came home on our return to the UK!

Fantastic holiday. Very friendly staff. Welcome drink on arrival. We were upgraded to a pool room and a bottle of wine in the room. Pool area is beautiful with loads of sun beds. Breakfast has most things you would expect. Loved it and would recommend
