Elivi Skiathos

An excellent experience. Our room had absolutely stunning views of the sea and the gorgeous sunsets. Room service and golf buggy transport to and from resort location was great and in our case a definite must in the heat. Breakfast was amazing: fantastic choice and quality. Service was welcoming and good quality although coffee always seamed to be slow arriving and not very hot. We ate at each of the restaurants and the food was very good apart from our main courses in the Adian restaurant. This was mentioned and the staff dealt with the matter politely and efficiently. The concierge service is very good and I would say a bit of a must. It's useful to know exactly where the restaurants are (particularly the fish restaurant). It's tucked away and the sign isn't very clear. Make sure you find out which places are open and when although this may only be an end of season issue. The jeep trip with Dimitris was fantastic. 4 hours of on and off-roading with significant stops all very knowleably explained in perfect English by Dimitris who graduated from an English university. Dimitris' passoon for his country was infectious and his history insight gave real added interest to the whole tour. The castle stop for sunset afforded us excellent panoramic views. The tour is planned but Dimitris asked if we wanted anything specific and he encorporated this appropriately. He gave us a couple of choices to fit in the timescale and was comsiderate about speed and terrain. If you have electronic equipment or camera gear with you, make sure it is well covered as it gets very dusty. He was a great guide and a lovely person to spend the afternoon with. Absolutely amazing! The staff, hotel, food, accommodations, beaches and pools are all fantastic, cannot fault it at all. The best holiday I’ve ever had. Hired a quad bike, so we could explore more of Skiathos, they let us park on the hotel car park. The views from the hotel are gorgeous. It is worth every penny!!!

The elivi was very nice the rooms were quant but very basic however we didn’t mind at all! Beach’s views food GREAT no complaints

This is a beautiful hotel, we were on the Nest side which is close to Big Banana beach which we thought was the better beach. It’s a bit quieter than the other beach, which was also very good with watersports and activities. Golf buggies will take you between this and the main area which is a real help. Our room was great, we had a private pool which was clean and big enough for 4. Everything worked and was up to date, especially the air conditioning which you definitely need! It was cleaned every day and fresh towels and water left each day too. The resort itself is a 5* setting, and it’s clear a lot of money was spent to create it. The management and operation of the resort is just not 5* though, which really lets it down. Really basic examples are cleaning the main pool from 10-12 in the morning (instead of before it opens), leaving guests sitting around the pool waiting for very slow cleaning to finish. They were also jet-washing the patio areas by the main pool at lunch time, which was extremely loud when guests are trying to relax. Several days no staff arrived for the breakfast buffet, and the kitchen staff disappeared too. The check in and out is very cold, and staff regularly argue about room-charge queries for small amounts - €5 difference for example. The breakfast was great in food terms, although speciality coffee is limited to just 1 per person - if you want more than 1 latte you have to pay for the rest. Again, not really what 5* resorts tend to do. The general operation and management just lets this place down, especially considering the price. which is a real shame. They’ve done the hard bit of creating a fantastic resort, and failed at the easy bit of operating like a 5* hotel. Don’t think I would return, which again is a shame but the service just let it down .

As I am reading this definition given by Google AI, none is quite true with Elivi Skiathos, unfortunately. The room rate is the only thing that is consistent with the 5-star designation. You as a guest just don’t feel like a priority here. I will skip the little things (which are still important at this level), we felt unsafe simply walking on the grounds. The hotel uses a dozen of massive electric carts to transport employees and sometimes guests around the property. They are driven at high speed and with the same disregard for safety of pedestrians as cars and bikes are driven on all the roads of this otherwise charming island. So, while walking on the narrow pathways of the hotel grounds, trying to soak in the heavenly vibes of Aegean coast, we had to learn the skill to be on constant alert for the approach from behind of a fast moving pile of steel and lithium-ion batteries, with no audible warning of any kind. My complaint to the general manager was met with a pushback (!) and produced no useful results. Some other annoying things include really terrible WiFi, inattentive waiters at the breakfast lounge, unclear work hours of some bars/restaurants, some disrepair in the room, beach loungers not being cleaned after the last night’s partying until late morning. All together, this adds up to a pervasive sense of lack of attention to guests’ well being, as I noted above. To be sure, this is likely a nicer hotel compared to alternatives on this island, due to its location and facilities. Just take the 5-star designation with a grain of salt and consider the value.

Haven’t just got back from the amazing Elivi hotel. I just wanted to leave a review saying thank you to all the staff for making our holiday so relaxing, good food great staff, fab accommodation in a lovely location. A particular thank you to the concierge ladies who were brilliant.. AAemis and Aggeliki . Thank you again
