This is a transparent and factual review regarding our experience of staying at a STANDARD STUDIO at the Sunrise Village 9th June 2023 This holiday was booked through the OLYMPIC HOLIDAYS website. There is a 20-picture sequence comprised of 5 images general hotel, 13 images of renovated rooms and finally just 2 basic wide angled pictures of a non-renovated room. There is NO written comment on the website stating which rooms have or have not been renovated. We had unwittingly booked a STANDARD STUDIO - INLAND VIEW anticipating it to be a renovated room: our room 204 was NOT a renovated room. OLYMPIC are contracted with the hotel to supply both renovated and non-renovated rooms. The STANDARD rooms continue to be poorly maintained awaiting future renovation. The room is spacious, cool and is cleaned every day but has many issues which rendered it unacceptable considering the price paid to Olympic, namely: - • A very rusty freestanding refrigerator (the original redundant fitted fridge is behind a screwed-up door under the rusty two ring hob) • Corroded shower base trim with sharp exposed metal edges. • Old rusty radiators. • Old hard uncomfortable bed • Corroded bathroom fittings, chrome plating worn off tap, loose corroded soap holder and a failed sink plug that empties a full sink in 30seconds. • Trailing sockets and cables for fridge and high wattage items (Kettle/coffeemaker) • Rotting bathroom window which could not be closed • Old noisy air conditioning unit which has a very musty smell (Health Hazard) • Shower door that would not close properly creating a slip hazard floor around the sharp base edges. After emailing just a few pictures to OLYMPIC on 13 June 2023 we were contacted by reception who showed us a deluxe 1 bed Suite which was a renovated unit (room # 310). We were allowed to transfer to this room at no extra charge for the remaining 9 nights. The move, prompted by the Olympic Resort Manager, was an improvement and much appreciated, however it was not without its problems. The room was a “Ground floor” (Greek nomenclature) which is really a basement/cellar room (English translation) with: - 1. No Balcony or terrace (contrary to OLYMPIC Website accommodation description) 2. No view from the small studio window which was at ground level (No inland view or any view whatsoever) 3. Adjacent to a continually noisy operating compressor room and cleaners’ storage area. 4. Did not contain a “Fully Equipped kitchen” as described on the Olympic Website: it just provided a kettle, a toaster, and a sandwich maker. There were NO hobs, oven, or microwave to cook meals so eating out became mandatory. 5. The Studio contained NO chairs or table to sit at and eat a proper meal: outside a very small glass table and chairs was available upstairs by the car park PEDESTRIAN ENTRANCE 6. The hanging space comprised 2 hooks with rope loops holding a small rustic wooden pole to put hangers on. There were no other drawers, cupboards, or proper shelves to s
