Barceló Maya Tropical - All Inclusive

We had a fantastic time this last week! My biggest complaint is that they make it look like all the things were included such as bowling, waterslides, surf ride, room service etc. and all of these things were an extra charge. I literally chose this place based on the amenities and things that were included only to find out they weren't. We still had a fantastic time and would stay here again. The room was clean- you had to keep the sliding door shut to the outside or every single thing in the room would get soaking wet when someone took a shower which did happen in the bathroom regardless. The mini fridge was only restocked twice and the second time was just water only. And I had to call and ask the first time. The food was pretty good. The buffet was fantastic and the Mexican and Italian were by far the best two restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Shopping is way more than anyone can need but very expensive at the mall more so than other places. A very long walk from our hotel to the Mexican restaurant which made us 25 minutes late. Seaweed all over the beach and sharp rocks up to and in the ocean so my daughter got cut on the very first day and we avoided the rest of the time. Drinks were phenomenal and definitely had alcohol in them as I saw other reviews saying that they didn't feel anything. Everything felt very safe.

Barcelo is such a beautiful place to stay. Beach is in the property. Food n drinks are the best. Been able to feel safe is what’s most important ❤️

We stayed in Tropical part of Barceló for Mother’s Day it was beautiful the place is spacious and they kept the landscaping clean and common areas nice plus it is very convenient that you can walk under the palapa not getting wet when it rain to be able to walk and go shopping. We enjoyed our stayed and we stayed tot he fullest time until we are checked out and the fact that you can still hang around after check out it was a plus. However the only comment that we have is that the food quality is terrible they could do better for sure. Thank you!

Beautiful property with lots of amenities. Easy access to amazing pools and beautiful beachfront! Food, particularly the restaurants, could be better. Buffet had good variety with tasty options (some not so tasty as well, but you can skip those and find what you like!) We'll be back!!!

It was very friendly and clean, and staff were almost always courteous and polite. Some of the administration was a bit curt, but may have been an off day. Food was always served in a clean and appetizing manner. Specialty restaurants seemed a bit rushed at times. I was there about 12 years ago, and the resort may have lost a bit of its small resort hospitality, because it has now grown massively. Only real complaint was the battle of the beach chairs----but that's another story.

Food quality and options have gone down. But overall still a great resort with all the amenities
