Unfortunately this hotel is mostly all show. It’s very smart, and the rooms are large and luxurious. The pool appears nice - however it is difficult to get in and out of because there are no handrails. The umbrellas around the pool look stylish but two were broken. The food sounds good on paper but is mostly not very good, and one dish was inedible. However the worst aspect is the staff. They are all extremely smartly dressed, but there are not enough of them. Service is either slow or non existent. One waitress was so rude to me and her own colleague that I complained to reception. We were waiting at the bar, and she was sorting a delivery of some cakes. He colleague, who seemed very new, was standing with her. I approached and asked to order some drinks. Her exact words were “I suppose so!” I told her she was very rude, and she then said loudly “you need to ask him!” Pointing to her colleague. I ordered our drinks, but the young man had clearly received no training so needed help. At that point she stomped off muttering to herself. We did eventually get drinks as he was assisted by someone else. She returned to the bar and started deliberately slamming things around very noisily. I have generously given a three because the rooms are nice, bed was comfortable, some staff are trying their best, and some food was nice.
