I stayed in the cottage and loved my stay there. It was everything the photos promised and more. I didn’t tire of looking at the view, with the colours changing throughout the day. It is completely secluded, with absolute tranquility. The cottage was well fitted and comfortable, with lots of good recommendations. The hot tub was an added bonus. It was just metres away from the Galloping Goose Trails, with a pub and an ocean view cafe within walking distance. The owner was friendly but discreet. I couldn’t recommend it more.

Wow, how fortunate we were to stay at this amazing B&B! Absolutely the cleanest and most pristine place we have ever stayed at, and we have stayed at many very clean places ! Everything was truly spotless. The views were spectacular, hot tub divine, breakfast delicious, and the hostess absolutely lovely - very friendly while also very respectful of guests' preferences to chat or not chat (we were intrigued by the place, so we were the chatty ones, asking lots of questions!). Absolute paradise - from the deck we watched eagles dive for fish, herons patiently fishing on the tidal flats, and soaking in the hot tub under the starry sky was magical. Inside, the lounge was very inviting, especially with all the fascinating books. Wish we could have stayed much longer.

We walked to Arbutus Cove from Metchosin and then to the Sooke Potholes. The Arbutus Cove Guesthouse was conveniently situated on the water right in between. We were greeted warmly and shown both to our room and to the common area where we could get tea and coffee and store our stuff in the refrigerator. There are four guest rooms. Our room was clean and friendly, with a wonderful deck and a view of the water. The hot tub was quite welcome! In the morning, we were able to get our coffee and tea and watch the otters crosing the bay before being called into a hearty breakfast at 8:30. It is a 15 minute uphill walk to the 17 Mile Pub, which lived up to its name and provided great basic drinks and pub fare. I would return!

We were blown away by how nice this place was. It definitely goes down as the nicest lodging we had on our trip around Vancouver Island. The location is absolutely stunning, right on the edge of Arbutus Cove, with expansive views across the bay to the surrounding hills. And the lodging has a large deck where you can sit out and enjoy the view while soaking in the sunshine. It is a bit out of town, so you would definitely want to have your own car. There are a few restaurants in the general area, but it’s only a 10-min drive into town, so not too bad. It is especially handy for cyclists, as it is located pretty much right on the Galloping Goose cycleway. We had a very friendly reception from the lovely host who quickly got us oriented and checked into our room. There are only 4 rooms on the property, all within the main lodge complex, so it feels nicely intimate. Our room was spacious, airy, and bright, with tons of windows to enjoy the amazing views. The furnishings were all comfortable and the room spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The Wifi internet worked well and the TV had a Roku account so a wide range of programming available. Our only actual complaint was that the TV was so darn small, about the size of a computer monitor, it was hard to see from the bed. A large, modern TV would be a welcome addition. In any case, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope we have the opportunity to come back here some day. Highly recommended to all travelers in Sooke

Kathy is a wonderful Host. Everthing is very clean and organized. The rooms are spacious and have an amazing view. The beds are comfortable with crisp white linen and duvets. The breakfast is very tasty. Large deck off the room is overlooking the bay. Five Stars all the way.

I feel so lucky to be able to come from busy Victoria to enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful place. You cannot beat the location. The cabin is equipped with everything you need and the amazing view is just ...well you have to see it to believe it! Thank you Kathy and Mike!

We had a wonderful stay in our gorgeous room overlooking the ocean. The entire guesthouse is immaculate and very well appointed. We were even treated to a hearty and delicious breakfast! Kathy was very friendly and most gracious host who went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

Secluded location far from highway affords quiet sleep. Comfortable bed. Windows open as wide as you want for fresh sea breezes. Arbutus trees do not obstruct wonderful view of quiet cove on Sooke Basin, surrounded by woods. Located on Galloping Goose Trail for hiking/biking and more ocean views. Private entrance, and another door to your own deck above the cove. Table and chairs on deck. Spacious room with all amenities. Exhilarating climb to friendly historic 17-Mile House, or drive up if you want. Arbutus Cove Guesthouse serves superb full breakfast with something different every morning. Later in the day, personal self-serve coffee and snacks. Thank-you, Cathy and Mike, for the most relaxing stay in Greater Victoria.
