Mixed feelings regarding this hotel. We found the reception staff quite disappointing - with the exception of one lady, they didn't come across as being particularly friendly or happy to help, although knowledgeable and efficient. We were also disappointed with the room - even allowing for the fact that there was only a standard room available when we booked we felt it was very basic for a 4 star hotel, particularly in terms of storage space available - a lot of our clothes had to remain in our suitcases for our 9 night stay - and the walls were very thin. The noise from the adjacent room didn't particularly bother us but might be a problem for light sleepers, Breakfast we also felt was disappointing - whilst plentiful, the choice of food was limited compared to other hotels we've stayed in. On the first morning we requested poached eggs - it took 40 minutes for my husband's to arrive, and a further 10 minutes for mine to be served. There were also issues with luke warm coffee in open topped jugs being served. Staff were very friendly in the restaurant, there just seemed to be a lack of efficiency. On the positive side, service/food at dinner on the two nights we dined in the hotel was excellent, and all areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean. The hotel is located up a fairly steep hill but we didn't find walking down to/back up from the town a problem, and there is a free shutttle bus that runs runs at approximately 90 minute intervals throughout the day/evening. Overall, for what we paid and compared to some hotels in Sorrento I would recommend it - it just didn't meet the standard of other 4 star hotels stayed in previously.
