I loved everything about this house! The place is immaculate, the food fantastic, bed so comfy, hot tub perfect. Loads of room for my brother, niece and her baby to visit for an evening. John is a wonderful host, and provided great recommendations for a rainy day excursion.

An unexpected 5-star gem in an 'off the beaten path' location. Meticulously restored and maintained, beautifully furnished. John was the consummate host and an excellent chef (breakfast was delicious, and early at our request). From the convenient off-street parking, to our very spacious two-room suite, to the complimentary beverages and snacks, and all the little extra amenities more common to a luxury hotel (as well as a hot tub), it was perfect. And quiet.

I travel to South Boston on business periodically and I choose to stay at CBH. John is a wonderful host who really focuses on making his guests feel at home. The rooms are clean and accommodating. It is a relaxing experience for me during what often is a hectic work schedule. CBH is like coming home where I can relax and enjoy the southern evenings.

We had a wonderful stay at the Charles Bass House B&B. John was an exceptional host who went above and beyond to ensure our visit was enjoyable. The house is beautifully decorated with great attention to detail and is kept in immaculate condition. Our room was not only well-appointed but exceeded our expectations with thoughtful extras. And the highlight of our mornings? John's pancakes—truly the best we’ve ever had!

My wife and I enjoyed a tranquil stay at this beautiful home. John’s cooking is excellent and presented well. The suite is spacious and pleasing. The back deck is private and also well done. The stay was restful. When in the area we plan to be back.

After our 2hr drive, it was a welcomed respite! Our stay was mid-week, so it was lovely to have a quiet stay in the first floor two room suite. We enjoyed excellent wine and jazz playing softly in the background. John made thee BEST pancakes I've EVER had. Our family felt welcome and at home. Would absolutely recommend & return again!
