Having previously stayed at the "best " hotel in Southport and being hugely disappointed in it, we were absolutely delighted to stumble across Edendale House and have now been staying there for many years . In fact we would not stay anywhere else when visiting Southport. Josie is the loveliest and most welcoming lady...absolutely nothing is too much trouble for her. Very good breakfast, comfortable beds, light filled rooms and even an emergency chocolate supply (!) Everything is absolutely spotless, and I mean spotless!! As a clean freak I have VERY high standards and she surpasses them! The accommodation has secure parking and an electric car charge point if needed . It is also in an excellent location. We are keen golfers and Edendale House is in the perfect launchpad to visit all of the great golf courses nearby ....Royal Birkdale, Hillside , Southport and Ainsdale, , West Lancs and more . And Lord street is an easy stroll away with its famous victorian boulevard (admittedly no longer in it's heyday but in my opinion still very beautiful) and plenty of good restaurants and bars, some with live music. Avondale Road itself is a lovely wide, safe, leafy street, with many handsome and imposing Victorian and Edwardian houses. We love to stroll around the area admiring the architecture . If you need somewhere to stay in or near Southport, put this B and B at the top of your list!!

Wow what a little gem!! Lovely lovely people can’t do enough for you really enjoyed our stay very quiet has on street parking breakfast was amazing and Josie and Ian are the most accommodating and lovely hosts you will find!! I travel all over the country with work and this was a brilliant little b n b went above and beyond and would 100% come back again in the future!!

First Class accommodation in a lovely quiet location. Added bonus of parking on site. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and look forward to going back again in the near future. Excellent location for visiting local pubs and restaurants.

Josie and Ian provide an exceptional quality guest house and are very welcoming and friendly hosts. Everywhere is extremely clean, fresh and well maintained. The bedrooms are really comfortable and the ensuite, whilst small due to the constraints of the building, is spotlessly clean and well appointed. Josie provides a high quality breakfast with a wide choice. I do not stay anywhere else in Southport. Many thanks as usual Josie and Ian.

We were made very welcome by Josie. The room was a good size with all the facilities you would expect. Breakfasts were excellent with a full range of choices. The king size bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed a nice quiet night's sleep. The only small criticism was the "cereal bowl" size wash basin in the small en-suite.

I was travelling to Scotland and decided to break the journey in Southport, so only stayed for one night. When I arrived I had a warm welcome from my lovely hostess and was shown to my room. It was nice and spacious - it had a lovely comfy double bed and there was a little kind of nook area by the window with a tv and chairs, perfect for a cup of hot chocolate and a book. The breakfast was good with a wide range to choose from. There was an honesty fridge at the foot of the stairs and a very comprehensive welcome pack. Although only for one night, the stay had everything I needed - thank you for a nice comfy stay.

This is a top notch B&B. Lovely room in a beautiful house, comfy bed, good shower (there are so many poor electric showers out there!), spotlessly clean, great breakfast, handy location, parking - and the customer service was amazing. Thank you for a great 3 days

The landlady was friendly, the room was nice, well decorated and comfortable and the place felt like home. Loved the small milk bottle to use in the room for tea / coffee and the honesty fridge full of snacks and drinks.

Really nice place. The landlady is accommodating. The rooms and bathrooms were impeccable. Great value for money. Just writing this while awaiting the breakfast which smells amazing. Will be back. Also parking here is easy
