Victorian Inn

The room wasn’t very clean. There were ants in the bathroom. I don’t think the towels or sheets were very clean, the mattress cover was stained. I’m pretty sure I got ringworm from the Towels or bedding. This is just a very old motel, so I shouldn’t have expected much. I was hoping at least for a clean room.

We were looking for a cheap hotel in the Sparks-Reno area that didn't include a significant room fee above the cost. We saw The Victorian Inn lusted on line . It is a retro motel that has probably seen better days. The front desk check in was efficient. This is a drive close to your door motel with free off street parking in a small lot. It is two stories so note that when requesting a room. Victorian Avenue is a fairly busy street though it was quiet throughout the night. There are walkable convenience stores near by and we did a short drive to a DQ. We secured a room for $60.14 though there was also a required deposit of $150 which I hope will be reimbursed as they said. The room was comfortable enough with basic amenities.

Older motel. No breakfast. No pool. It was clean and comfortable. Convenient location. Nice to be away from the casinos. When we needed something all I had to do was call the office and soon it was there. Not the best, not the worst.( 10 more characters)

The pictures look great and suck you in, but pictures can be deceiving. The primary reason for my low rating is that they advertise free wi-fi. Is it really wi-fi if it is so bad that you can't connect to it? I had to tether to my cell phone. And other than the fact that their system is ridiculously bad, there was no mention they were having issues. In fact, I was specifically asked if I would be in need of it. It was then I was given the password. Tell-tail signs suggested they were still in the stone age when I checked in. There was no visible computer terminal, and the desk clerk filled out a paper form. When check in was complete, I was given a physical key, and then the clerk wrote down the password. Our room was quite small with insufficient electrical outlets, and the furniture, while quaint, was wobbly and in poor condition. There were other smaller issues like peeling paint and a sagging curtain rod. Minor things, yes, but it does nothing but support the argument that the place is old and well behind the times. Find another place.

We stayed at the Victorian Inn for 4 nights. We had a nice clean and simple king bed room. It was on the ground floor, carpet and nice counter space with fridge and microwave. We chose the Victorian Inn because we like the "home feeling" and don't need anything too fancy, we liked the price, the reviews, the proximity to places we wanted to visit.

They have a person who is very violent at the reception. I was staying for 3 days in the hotel in room 502 and they agreed to send me a check from my old apartment and I went to pick it up and the person who attended me spoke very ugly to me. It is horrible that you have a staff in such a way working in customer service and being told by a person who does that work in hotels of better categories.
